Gift Certificate used cancelled order.

We have a situation where someone needed their order cancelled, but they used a Gift Certificate for the entire purchase. The order was cancelled, the stock was re-stocked, but they now are missing the amount from their certificate.

What would be the correct way to handle this? I would have thought that because it is 'self contained', as in no external gateway for payment, zencart would credit the GV back to what it should be. I don't find that is the case.

Do I simply create a GC for the amount paid? Are there plans for ZC to take care of this in the future?

IF the guy had $100 bill and paid $100 then gave the stuff back you give back the $100 bill ...

If the guy had a $100 GV and paid $100 GV then gave the stuff back you give back the $100 GV ...

Just make sure if you shipped the guy gave it back before you send from the Admin a new GV for $100 ...

Thought that would be the case, I was just kind of suprised, as it restocked the item, but did nothing for the cash (value) involved.
