    Default USPS Confusion

    I signed up at:

    http://www.uspsprioritymail.com/et_regcert.html

for a USPS Web Tools account. It then e-mailed me with a "Web Tools User ID"

The USPS Shipping Module asks for:

    "Enter the USPS User ID
Enter the USPS USERID assigned to you."

    and

    "Enter the USPS Password
    See USERID, above."

what are the proper values for these?

You put the User ID from the USPS email in for the User ID.
You can put anything for the password, as it's ignored nowadays.

    OK,

I used the USERID from the e-mail and a random password.

When checking out, the USPS box shows:

"Unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance."

What is the customer address you're testing with? Is it valid?

Have you set your store's shipping ZIP in Admin->Configuration->Shipping/Packaging ?

The zip is set in the Shipping/Packaging section.

I tested a few different addresses that all should be valid and get the same error.

    Ideas?

    Tom_Ace,

Send and email with your user ID to this address icustomercare AT usps DOT com and request that you be moved to a production server. Once they move you it will all fall into place.
