Easy Populate 1.2.5.4 support

Ok. Sorta trouble shooting myself here.

Tried some test data.

But now it works like I dont have any problems at all.
But I only uploaded 2 products.

So now I am thinking. Or know the answer (Banging head) Hmmm maybe
thats why there is a "Split File" section. Duh!


Okay well. Maybe I have that solved. Which now still leaves me to thew other
question about my "Temp" folders.
Is the way I am doing it te only way to get attributes done easly, Or is there another way? Am I doing harm leaving temp folders in closed directories.

The products which are not showing have either:
- invalid master categories id
- no product description

To fix master-categories-id, DO A DATABASE BACKUP and then go to Admin->Tools->Store Manager, and choose "Reset all products master categories id". This may take awhile to run.

Whew... Ok. You are right.
I tried combining a upload I know that works & the file. The part that worked worked and the data I was trying to upload still didnt show. Ok so now i know its the data. Tried chaging everything.. Then dropped my descriptuions and replaced with a duplicate tite and it worked...

Whew!

Ok. Now about this other thing. Is there a way I can incorporate this re-alligning the master id's with my Batch proccessing attributes idea? Im not sure if there is anyway else to do it without leaving the files in the temp folders i created. Also ust a though. If a file has a invalid master id from the start with a linked product to it. Which catagory would the master link id go to?

Whenever I tried to download I file (not upload, download), I get this error message:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, support AT supportwebsite DOT com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

I tried to contact my support, and they said it had to do w/ the software I was running, and that I'd have to talk to the software support.

1. your server's errorlog will usually tell you a lot of info about what is causing this.
2. As an alternative, skip using "download" and use "create" instead, and then use FTP to download the file from your "imports" folder (or "temp" or whatever it's called)

EasyPopulate 1.2.5.4: I wonder if this is a known issue. I have a product in my store, Model ADS-BYMYLIF, priced at 16.95. I use Easypopulate to upload the following file:

v_products_model	v_products_quantity	EOREOR
ADS-BMYLIF	0	EOREOR

I refresh, quantity has gone to 0, but the price has shot up to 95.47 (which happens to be what shown in Products Prics (Gross) when the 16.95 is the Products Price (Net)) -- is there a fix for this?

If it's fixed in EP Advanced, this would be an additional prod to upgrade (which I'm likely to do anyway once the other half wakes up and gives me the OK)

Woodymon asked if anyone else was having trouble with discriptions loading. DrByte suggested uploading five at a time and asked what editor he's using.....this got my attention but don't see a responce from Woodymon.

I am using ep_v1.2.5.4

Last night I uploaded 22 products and the discriptions didn't take.

I edit in MS excell and only one line uploads...but I see that is because excell only saves one line of my discriptions. Langer mentions in the notes that you can overload excell but I can't find an alternative.

I have no problems with price changes and all else seems to be working just fine...except for Froogle. I use Froogle Google for that. I'm afraid to go with later release until I see that all the bugs are worked out.

So my questions are: is it safe to upgrade? What are the issues? Any suggestions on a better editing tool?

the usual cause for only one product uploading/updating is the omission of EOREOR from the end of each row

Here is what i do with excell. Hope this helps.

I have a colums for Title, Description.
Then I chop up my html at places before where I want the title to go
The middle of the title and descriptions and then what ever i want all the items to have on the end. Then I put it all togeather with something that looks like this:
