HELP! Cannot Admin Login

Hi all,

Ok, something has happened and I can't login to the Admin panel. I'm using phpmyadmin and looking at the PW_ADMIN table. I am putting in the admin name and password yet it still tells me every time "you entered the wrong username or password".

I even tried inserting a new admin name and password into the table (which worked fine) and it won't accept that name either.

Can someone please help me. :) I can't get into my site anymore.

Does your TABLE_ADMIN contains your username and encrypted password inside ? If not, by simply seeking the forum, on how to update your admin table, it should clear this issue.

Note: If you do not know where to verify your content, simply use phpmyadmin (or any relative SQL editor content) by accessing your mySQL Database - related to Zen-Cart.

The table contains the admin name and password. I tried entering that info and it won't log me in. I did try searching the boards for an answer but my search string wasn't bringing up anything helpful.

Please, if you know what I should do to fix this, please let me know. Telling me to go search the boards is not very helpful. I'm stressed as it is. ;)

Ok, for future information if anyone else has this problem. Here is how I fixed it.

1. Grab your local copy of Admin->login.php
2. Comment out this code:

 if (!zen_validate_password($admin_pass, $result->fields['admin_pass'])) {
      $message = true;
      $pass_message = ERROR_WRONG_LOGIN;
    }

3. Upload the modified login.php to the appropriate directory
4. Go to the admin login and put your admin name there. You'll login without any PW check.
5. Once in your Admin panel go to Tools->Admin and reset your password.
6. Go back to your local copy of login.php and uncomment out the PW code.
7. Upload login.php
8. Log back in with your admin name and PW.

DONE!!!

Once I got my head on straight, this solution was quite simple.

I would check and make sure that your admin email stayed the same. When this happened to me it was because someone had compromise the server. They got in and changed the admin user name, pswd and email address, so sending new pswd didn't work. Went to db through phpAdmin and changed the email address back and new user name, can't change pswd as its encrypted in the db. quickly to admin login resend pswd, check email for the new pswd and I was in.
