Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

That EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_SORT is only in zencart /modules/upcoming_products.php they are in the database as config values.. you must only have a partial install of the database config table values..,

I'm actually posting because there seem a lot of people not getting the product image cached.

Mine works ok once the cache bmz folder is 777 or equivalent - but also..

Check that you have

    if (function_exists('handle_image')) { ...

in your functions/html_includes.php

Older versions of that file may not have that code block (it's in the 1.3.5 version file), which activates the image handler, in it. I got caught out because I had modified my older html_includes.php and added it without merging to include the 1.3.5 image handler code.

Image Handler Hovering.

I am new to zen cart, but not to php or javascript.
I setup a new store with all the sample/demo products installed.
I have installed several modules including IH2.
I applied the JS fix noted earlier in this thread.
Everything seems to be working except hover/zoom.
I spent some time trying to figure out what was broken and why some things from the default instal hovered, but others do not.

What I have determined is that Specials hover, but other products do not. right now, I am trying to figure out how to add a product that is not on the specials list to the specials list to ensure that it is in fact the specials box and not how the products listed as specials were added to the sample/demo products.

Has anyone experienced this or know what is going on.

Also, the default sample products are organized into directories. for IH2 to work espcially with hover, do they all need to be in the default directory?

Any help appreciated.

Ok, I can't edit my prior post, so I'll post again. It definitely seems that only specials are hovering. That leads me to believe that it is an admin configuration setting and not that something is wrong with the install. Any ideas what I need to do?

Ok, really weird. I changed all images to be resized restricted to canvas and the same 4:3 proportions, and hover started working everywhere.

I had dabbled with only a couple of sizes changed to restrict canvas size at 4:3 initially. Didn't think that was it. Did I miss something or is it a strange bug. If this strikes anyone else oddly or someone else has a similar problem, I can make screen shots of the setting changes that made the difference.

G'day,

I've done my best to read through the previous 500+ posts and try to understand IH2. However some conflicting posts have confused me, so before I go ahead and try to install it, I'm hoping someone might be able to clarrify a few things for me.

So far I've only been uploading one image per product, which is what most would consider the large version, max size about 800 x 600, but more typically 640 x 480. Zen Cart gets the browser to resize it to the required size when dispalyed in its various places in the pages.

Some images have gone into my /images directory, but most are supposed to be in separate subdirectories for each manufacturer, e.g. /images/oms/, /images/ndiver/ etc.

Images for the categories and subcategories are in /images/categories/, and manufacturer logos are in /images/manufacturers/.

I haven't started to use additional images as yet, but my understanding is these would go into the same manufactuer directories as the primary image for the product, with the same filename and _1, _2, _3 etc. as their filenames.

So now to IH2.

My understanding is that I install IH2 and it will start to automatically generate properly sized image files for each image size type required by Zen Cart, using the existing large product images, wherever they may be in the image directory structure. Is this a correct take on things?

I won't have to move existing image files around?
I won't have to go through all of my products and respecify / re-upload the product images?
I can still operate my existing directory structure of an image subdirectory for each manufacturer?

The answers to these questions may seem obvious to many. However the IH2 documentation isn't clear on this stuff, and various posts in this topic have given me the impression that my understanding may be incorrect. I'm hoping the posts that have muddied my thoughts are simply the result of others having problems installing IH2 and getting it working properly.

I hope someone can set the record straight.

Ive tried to work this out by searching past posts with no luck.

I installed the new Zen Cart version on my server.
I then uploaded the 4 image handler folders.

Both admin and the store have gone blank. i.e. blank white pages.

Not sure what to do! I really want image handler on my site. Any ideas would be valued?

Do you run your own server? If PHP error display is off, you could have one small php error and get a blank page.

I don't know where else to post this... I have had Image Handler installed and working fine for the last several months. I recently added some new images about a month ago.

Yesterday and today, I'm trying to add a new product (with images) and now all of a sudden, IH2 isn't working...

I have no clue what could be wrong. I haven't touched my settings, I haven't changed a thing.

I keep getting a "No Info" for the default image and boxes with Red X's across all 3 sizes.

However, if you do the "click to enlarge", the picture does show up, but it's not showing up in the product info in the cart or in the Image Handler.

The most bizarre thing out of all this, is that all of my existing images that have been added up to this point all work fine. I have not added any new modifications or anything to this store, so I can't image there would be a conflict that way.

Anybody have any ideas? I have holiday products and images that I have got to get uploaded within the next few days.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated..

I did actually see this thread before I posted but couldnt see a solution. My problem is similar but the "no info" message is only showing on new images posted from yesterday even though when the item is listed, the image appears to save normally and shows up on the preview - cant see it in image handler or on the actual website. All the other images are showing normally on the website but as red crosses in image handler with the file size info showing but not the actual image.

Made no changes to zencart except to split a category into 3 subcategories.

Looking in the bmz_cache directory I can see that this image is not actually there so there is a problem creating it.

Delete the existing image and add it again in the IH menu and see if that helps?

Have you run out of webhosting space?
