Quick Updates plugin [support]

Just uploaded Nov 27th version but the table not rendering properly.

Also why ID instead of product name and can we change this. very disappointed so far in the functionality of this module (like it doesn't work).

Hope some one can point me in right direction here.

I really love this contrib all ready. Makes it so Quick lol!!

One thing i think it would really benefit from is adding the available date drop down box too. Then you can update the stock, when it's next available and done.

I would that too, but I am afraid I won't get to adding it myself (not soon anyway). I did not even get to making the margin and purchase price column configureable yet. Still planning to do it but........

@Ian: I looked at the screenshot and it really looks weird I don't know what went wrong, but it looks like the file must be damaged, or maybe only a part of the sql has been loaded? The zip contains a couple of sql files for upgrading olders versions (named accordingly), and one sql file for clean installs, maybe you loaded one of the upgrade sql files?

Yes that is what I did.

So I uploaded the "quick-update" and have a better looking page.

However, if I add an amount to the +- value field, nothing happens.

What have I missed.

BTW when I try to upload the update_1_3_6 it fails (not sure if I need that).

I am glad to hear it works now :-) (and I think I will upload it to the Zen downloads soon, since this version seems quite stable)

The update sql files are only needed if you are having an older version installed and don't want to remove your old settings (so not needed for fresh installs). The version naming is a bit confusing I think, I guess that is why you loaded the wrong one in the first place .

I must admitt I am not sure about it. It may have worked before but I never tried/tested it very well. Maybe it never worked correctly or maybe I wrecked it ( ), or maybe it works in a way I don't know either. If I get time to update I might take a look at it.

I assume the idea is that you can enter a percentage and/or amount and add it to all listed prices?

Yes. I guess that was the point of the original exercise as it should allow admin to update prices at a sweep.

When I tested just now, adding a percentage gives some response (but wrong figures)

Adding just a number gives no change and a -ve % doesn't work either.

Mine changes all the amounts + or -, total amount or percentage, when you click the preview button, but does not do it permanently when you click on update after that. All the figures are correct, it just doesn't update them in the db. I never noticed that before. I always entered an amount manually and copied and pasted it into each box. I never knew Quick Updates was supposed to be even quicker!

(@craftzombie: sorry I have not mailed back about the password code yet, but I haven't forgotten it.)

I have found several bugs within the "Value or rate :" markup code. One I introduced myself (that is the reason why the marked up prices won't update currently), one is related to a small piece of code still not being compatible with register globals off. And there are some other issues as well. Most (or all?) of it is easy to solve and I will upload an new version of the quick_updates.php file soon.
