Craftzombie,
After reading through this entire thread, though I don't want to remove login all together I DEFINITELY want to tone it down a bit. If they're not going to put up your contribution since it's all open source anyhow would be willing to send it zipped up to those who ask for it... (like myself, lol) I know you probably don't want to have to send two zillion emails but I know a bunch of folks sure would appreciate any method of sharing you'd feel comfortable with.
Many others already provide Mods, Themes, and other various items for use with ZenCart, available for download from their own site. Don't see where your Mod would be any different or a problem.
Craft just put a link to it in your signature,
with a new release out the contribs are probably not priority one

Okay then, if I get chewed out.... I'm comin' after YOU!![]()

If you haven't noticed.... I talk too much. So when you read my instructions, I'm sorry for never shutting up. I just wanted everyone to really understand everything. And emails don't bother me, so feel free to ask me any questions, etc.

You don't actually HAVE TO remove the login. On another site, I kept the login, but for wholesale customers only. Since I open their accounts, its not a big deal for me to keep them from opening duplicates. You could leave the login and let customers choose whether or not they want an account. The only problem with that is if they forgot their password and opened another account because they didn't realize they could just click on forgot password, or if they opened duplicate account for some other reason, their orders would be in different accounts and they wouldn't understand why. You easily make a note about it though and it would be okay. Or figure out some other way around it. I just made it the way it is for my own purposes.
The only things you are doing with my contribution are making the database accept duplicate email addresses and allowing the password field to be blank upon account creation. That's the meat of the contrib. Everything else is up to you. Have fun fiddling around, just back everything up first!![]()
Wow! Thanks CZ for the files and all the detailed instructions!
And to Paul Mathot & DrByte for their help as well to make this mod fly.
Far from being too wordy, and way better than not enough.
Haven't had time to try it out, but looks like a winner.

Craftzombie thank you SO MUCH for that. Now I'm getting excited... *sigh* I'm such geek.
I backed-up my current cart, created a new db, installed ZenCart
again in a new directory (ZenCartx), supstituted all the php files,
then compared the 2 carts to see the changes. I still need to spend
more time reading your explanations, and try to understand what
was done.....thanks for such a complete set of instructions as well as
all the php files!
Now I just need to know if it's possible (if I put a "add to cart" link on each product in the slideshow) to go to the cart, add or buy the item, and continue shopping, etc. ? I can add links to the product description in the slideshow.

That's what I'm trying to achieve by removing the login requirement.![]()
