Admin Profiles (for v1.3.x only!) Support Thread

I did clean install 1.3.7, no data, no other add ons.
Run SQL patch
copied all files (admin folder and extra folder)

This is my 3rd try on 3rd store, perhaps if I sleep on it I will wake up with a miracle revelation which will point me in a right direction. What's depressing that I was able to install it without any trouble the first time I tried it (mind you that was on ISP), these tries are on my laptop, I wonder could that be a problem?? I am testing my "restore" abilities... and cannot get the Admin Profiles. I backed up my database, installed new/clean 1.3.7 on my laptop, restored the database and ftp'ed all files from ISP (where I had the Admin Profiles installed).
I did not installed any mods on my new site (dual pricing, minimum order, ceon cc, admin profiles) thinking it will all come with restored database and all copied files (I kept the "local" config.php in admin/include and in /include). All is working with the exception of Admin Profiles. I run the sql, it did not give me an error. When that did not work I dumped the database and restore them again, but still no Admin Profiles. What is the proper procedure to do it?

The process here looks broadly OK, though I'm not sure why you installed a clean copy of 1.3.7, only to overwrite it with the files from your ISP. What was the version running on your ISP? What version of Admin Profiles were you running there? What does "not working" mean? Could you be more specific about what you did and didn't see in respect of Admin Profiles? Do you FTP ALL the files from your ISP or a subset of them?

I also notice that although you say everything else worked, you have posted several other problems in various parts of the forum. The thing that strikes me about these posts taken together is that they are all unusual problems, which suggest to me some incompatibility between the 1.3.7 that you installed and the files that you downloaded form your ISP.

When I click on Image Handler in admin tools I receive this error after I installed Admin Profiles on a working test site. The site has the following mods installed:
Image Handler2, minimum order, dual pricing, ceon cc
I do not get the icon in admin tools to set Profiles either. I copied all the files into directories, did the box modifications as indicated.
Obviously I am doing something wrong, but cannot figure out what. This is my second attempt (on a different site). See my previous post.

This suggested that you didn't follow step 4 of the installation instructions. This step is supported by a file, "updating box files (a step-by-step guide)", that actually uses Image Handler as an example.

Re-running the SQL patch will have no effect on this. The problem here is a missing function which is a code issue rather than a database problem.

The function is declared in admin/includes/functions/admin_profiles.php file. So if that's not being found then one of two things is likely to have happened. Either the file has not been copied into your environment properly, so it's not there or in the wrong place. Or it has become corrupted so that its contents are not being properly recognized.

Thanks Marg, both for the positive feedback and for confirming that Admin Profiles works fine for you on 1.3.7.

Just to clarify for anybody else. The reason that last available download says that it is intended for 1.3.6 is because none of the files affect by Admin Profiles changed in 1.3.7 so no update was needed (though there may be some enhancements on the way ).

Hi

I have just installed Admin Profiles and "forgotten password" by email link does not work. I am getting a message:

"Sorry, your security clearance does not allow you to access this resource."

I have checked the FAQs on WIKI regarding the fix, but it does not work (in fact I have the latest version - the same line #15 of the admin/includes/init_includes/overrides/init_admin_auth.php

What is wrong here?
