ok, the space between the E N was the problem. It is in two places, line 67 and 70. that fixed the problems with the cart at checkout. At least it looked correct.
I ran a test and everything seemed to work fine, except that the credit balance decreases to 0. In the admin I can see it is back to 0 and when you go and review the order in account details of the customer, it took off the entire amount of credit and not what it showed on the checkout page.
