    Default Canada Post testing

I installed the CP module and want to test it. Do I absolutely need a customer ID or can i use the CPC_DEMO_XML ?

Leaving all values at default, i get:

Cannot reach Canada Post Server. You may refresh this page (Press F5 on your keyboard) to try again.
    110 Connection timed out
If you prefer to use Canada Post as your shipping method, please contact the...

or does this sound more like a port 30000 issue ?

Your error sounds like a port 30000 problem.

To test, you will need a real CPC account created.

I'm having the same issue, I have a CPC account, and i've been told by my hosting company that port 30000 is open in the firewall. Am I missing something? Thanks

I have this module working perfectly, here are my settings:
    Canada Post Parcel Service
    Enable CanadaPost Shipping
    True

    Enter CanadaPost Server IP
    sellonline.canadapost.ca

    Enter CanadaPost Server Port
    30000

    Enter Selected Language-optional
    en

    Enter Your CanadaPost Customer ID
    CPC_xxxx

    Enter Turn Around Time(optional)
    0

    Tax Class
    --none--

    Tax Basis
    Shipping

    Shipping Zone
    --none--

    Use CP Handling Charge System
    True

    Handling Charge per box
    0

    Sort Order
    0

You have to have a customer id and be on the production server, not just your Canada Post account.

I would call them, get them to give you a customer ID and ask them to put you on the production server.

Once you get that set up, you have to set up your Shipping profile here:

    http://sellonline.canadapost.ca/servlet/LogonServlet

That is where you set up your preferences and box sizes. Without that, your cart will not have anything to reference when estimating shipping.

    hth,

    thanks Pat,
I just got it up and running last night. It was a port 30000 problem. It appears that when I asked them to open up the port, they must have only opened it "half way" unidirectionally. So I sent them a message Tuesday night and got a response back yesterday to try it again now, and so I did and like a charm, though there seem to be a few bugs I might need to work out, but it doesn't look too big. Like for instance, if I didn't charge a handling fee from the CP end, my shipping quotes look like they would be $1-$2 short, and it doesn't matter how much I up the tare on my packages in zencart, or even the tare of the boxes on the CP sellonline site. But thats ok, cause I just charge the handling fee and it all seems to work out. So thanks again.

    Luke
