Default Problems with double clicking at checkout

We have about a half a dozen customers that click the final confirmation button at checkout and charge themselves twice. We have to void one of the orders within our Authorize.net account afterwards.

Is there anything that can be done within ZenCart (custom programming or otherwise) to avoid this? I have written a detailed warning that informs our customers of double charging, but it continues to happen.
I've seen other websites display a spinning animation while payment is being confirmed. Can this be created somehow?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    thanks,

I have had this problem myself the last 3 days since my cart went live. Anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent this??

    I have had this too.

    - +/- one out of 10 orders doubled which was a real pain in the ...

    - found out it was triggered by double clicking

    - decided to look for a fix using js (disabling the button after the first click)

    - fount out a js fix like I wanted was already build in in Zen Cart by default ...
(Since 1.3.x I think, not in 1.2.x or earlier versions)

    - tried to find a bug in the code or something

    - meanwhile had to move to another server

    - problem disappeared right after the move (almost, now it only hapens very rarely)

Sorry, no solution, but maybe it helps a little to find the cause.

red flag Re: Problems with double clicking at checkout

I'm picking up on this tread again as it's happened twice in the past evening.
The customer double-clicks the final payment and twice charges are made and 2 orders are processed.

Can't there be a way to make another 'processing' page, with a spinning wheel come up as soon as the button is pressed the first time?
This is the way may large websites handle it.

It's extremely embarrassing to our company.

    thanks,

I know this is old but does anyone have a solution for this? It's been happening to me too.

There are many ways to fix this doubleclick problem (in general), the first way is to use js (disable the form after it has been submitted), or assign a unique id to the form and make sure that id is not submitted twice.
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me
