User tracking mod

i installed the Contribution: User Tracking
Version: user_tracking_for_zen 1.3.6.2

from the downloads section, got it uploaded, configured, but the problem is, there is no way to initiate it. the documentation reads:

Admin/Tools/User Tracking displays your users visits

but it does not exist. there is a bit of confusion over this statement:

2- install sql patch file, preferabely by phpMyAdmin than add sql patch of zen ( as recommended in the forum)

i installed the file user_tracking.sql in the zencart sql patch section under tools, but what does he mean by "then add sql patch of zen"?

So any way, i do have the user tracking config in the Configuration menu of admin, i do NOT have user tracking in Admin/Tools

Any ideas?

UPDATE: i noticed this error on my page:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: zen_update_user_tracking() in /home/content/h/u/m/humbll/html/rda-enterprises.com/includes/templates/sophybluegr/common/tpl_footer.php on line 68

fixed it by reinstalling

I've noticed another bizarre behavior: When a "guest" has items in his shopping cart - all the other prior "guests" have the same items in their shopping carts too.

This is 1.3.7 UT on 1.3.7 zc.

Any suggestions?

Hi...same happens to me!!!

I use v1.3.7 and got the UT from the download area.

I see users assking guestions but do not see any reply.

The user tracking mod seems to have a few bugs.
I myself cant purge googlebot crawls from my database.

The contrib works fine (as far as I can see, installed it some days ago). The only problem I got is the same one beasley described: Googlebot sessions cannot be deleted, click count is 900 now - and raising.

hi

i had the same probelms with spiders and bots. after spending weeks searching i found out their is two different versions of the user mod and both had a little difference to them. the first one is not supported and i don't beleive you can even find it unless someone comes across and gives it to you but i don't think it will work with 1.3.7 . that verson had a no bot policy of some sort. i have to find it but what i did is took the footer of that one which is

<?php if (ZEN_CONFIG_USER_TRACKING == 'true' && !$spider_flag && function_exists('zen_update_user_tracking')) { zen_update_user_tracking(); } ?>

and inserted with the newer version thats in downloads. so far so good i don't have a single bot or spider being recorded. that saves me about mmmmm a billion useless info

Thank you sirryche! I patched the tpl_footer.php and everything works fine! No more spider sessions spamming the user tracking page :).

I did it not exactly the way you described. Here is what I did:

/catalog/includes/templates/template_default/common/tpl_footer.php
(on install, I did not had the tpl_footer in the templates/<MYTEMPLATE>/common directory, so I used the common one)

your welcome i put mine in /includes/templates/xxxxxxxxxx/common/tpl_footer.php where 'xxxxxxxx' is the name of the template i am using. hope this works for you
