Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

Actually, my current mod does not touch any file belongs to the old Cross-Sell mod, which is working just fine. I will have to contact the author of that mod, asking for his permission before making any change.

My plan for all my mods, is to eventually move all the logic functions into classes, and clean up the code and html to make it easier for others to make any change.

Hi,

I've installed Advanced Cross sell as well as the original cross sell mod (as required) and it seems to run ok but the cross sell products are not showing up under the products. In other words nothing has changed from before I installed the mod. Is this a java problem? I've read some of the entries here and I have both the store and the js folder installed in root so I can't figure out what's wrong. ANy clues?

It seems to set correctly. If your xsell products are not displayed on the product's page, check if you have installed the original XSell mod correctly (check all the steps again, if you are using a custom template then you have to edit you custom template, not the default one).

Please remember that my mod (currently) does not have anything to do with displaying the xsell products on the site, it simply makes it much more easier for you to cross-sell products in admin.

Hmm ok, I didn't realize your mod only enhanced the xsell mod. Xsell seems set up correctly too so I'll just have to do some research and figure out the problem.

Yes, I'm sorry that I could not help you.
There is one more thing you can check: if you know how to use phpmyadmin, use it to access the cross-sell table, see if it's set up correctly (product with id X cross-sell to product with id Y, etc...)

I have a problem...I don't have Admin->configuration->Cross-sell. I have recopied all the files again; redone all the sql that i am supposed to but no config. I can access Cross-sell and the new Advanced Cross-sell in the Catalog column. As yet the Advanced Cross-sell page does not make sense as only some of the information is on the page and it does not pick up the cross-sells from the original as yet. Has this happened to anyone else? And can anyone help me please????

Ok, I followed the advice of another zenner and it worked! I removed the module manager and presto!

So sorry about posting a third time in a row, but as I fixed one problem I then discovered another. On my website, the pages that have cros-sell items listed, the background colour is incorrect. The background should be white with the background behind the words "We also recommend" set as being burgundy...BUT, all of this is now burgundy. Can anyone suggest how to fix this? Much appreciated. I will then have this module complete.
