Automatically assign new customers to group_discount

I would like to automatically assign people who chose to recieve newsletters from my shop to a specific discount group.

Is there a way to let this be done automatically? Normally I would do this manually but most times customers register themselves and order right away, before I have the time to assign them to the correct group.

What happens if the customer creates an account and comes back tomorrow and then selects to receive the newsletter? Should they be added to the Group Discount?

What happens if the customer creates an account and selects receive newsletter ... gets automatically added to the discount group ... then removes himself from the newsletter? Should they be removed from the Group Discount?
