    help question NO pricing for public, GROUP pricing for retailers?

    My first 2 days of Zenning, 3 themes and a handful of mods later, I'm almost there... Here's what I'm trying to do:

    My client is a manufacturer. When J.Q. Public visits the site, they should be able to see all of the product, but none of the pricing. I have ZC set up as a gallery for that purpose already.

    However, my client would like his existing clients (retailers) to be able to see the pricing and order the product.

    There is no need for the public to join as a member. Existing clients can be manually entered.

    Any thoughts on how to hide pricing from all non-approved members?

    E.

    One option I'm thinking of is that non-members get a 100% discount, so every item appears as $0.00. That would be acceptable in the short term.

    Might peek at Customer Details ...
    Customer Approval Status - Authorization Pending
    Customer must be Authorized to shop
    0= Not required
    1= Must be Authorized to Browse
    2= May browse but no prices unless Authorized
    3= Customer May Browse and May see Prices but Must be Authorized to Buy

    It is recommended that Option 2 or 3 be used for the purposes of Spiders

    Admin > Configuration > Customer Details > Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices - set to 2.

    (Customer must be approved to shop
    0= Not required
    1= Must login to browse
    2= May browse but no prices unless logged in
    3= Showroom Only)

    ...or Customer Approval Status, even better...

    Hi Linda, I have a variation on the above question:
    I want to be able to suppress prices for certain product types and use 'Call for Price' option. However ZC shows whatever I enter in the 'Products Price'. Please can you help?

    Now I have only ASK FOR PRICE button:
    www.estufe.com
    I'll put show prices only when I'll have added prices, and I'll put a button apart to ask prices when my clients will see prices when logged in, and I'm thinking to connect ASK FOR PRICE button to VTIGER with his WEBFORM MODULE

    The idea behind showing the price on the Call for Price is that you are showing one price and if they call the conclusion is that there is a better price to be had ...

    You could always test the product for Call for Price and alter the function to not show the price to the customer when a product is product_is_call = 1 ... but how are you using the price that you do not want it to show to the customer?

    Stoves that I sell have a standard price between 500 and 20.000€ so people don't buy them easily like to buy chips.
    I publish standard price in the reserved area to logged in- registered users, and anyone, anonymous and logged users can ask for a discount.
    In this way I push people to register and have a phone contact, in this way for me is more easy to sell and reassure the clients that we are a trustable company and that they can have a good price and service.
    Our discount can be between 5 till 40%.

    7 years ago, for 3 years I ws selling online many laptops online in this similar way, I was near to sell 10 laptops per day on the web, but quick change of prices, little fees, and high online competition have make me to close this old project and do a less stresing life..
    the notebook web site was : www.qpt.it now closed
