Adding image on main page

I know you have to change design_main_page.php in order to add an image on the main page. My question is where in that file do I add it and what code do I use. I want to put an image in the center of the page above the New For January box. I hope this makes sense.

If you goto
admin/Tools/Define Pages and then use the drop down box and select
define_main_page.php
you will be able make any changes ie add text and images.
Note you will need to cahnge the permission

Thanks. I didn't realize you could add images through this. I have been using this to change text.
