Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I am upgrading to 1.3.8a and the admin>configuration>google feeder is not showing up, I currently have it installed on my main site 1.3.7

I already submit a sitemap.xml to google, so will adding this google base feeder do something in addition to this ? If yes please explain exactly what or point to the right place for this info.

Is anyone successfully using Google Base Feeder v1.6.7 successfully with ZC V1.3.8a and SEO URLs? Looks like a good time saver, but doesn't version compatibilty in downloads section.

Is there a way with this module to automatically have Google Checkout accepted turned on as one of the payment methods? I am referring to the checkbox under Payment when as item is edited.

Everything else is working great!

This is a Very handy tool. It submits your products (for free) to google base, which is an online shopping site. Your products will be added to http://www.google.com/products

Yes I understand that its a good tool but my question is 'Does this tool add value if you are already submitting a sitemap to google.' and if the answer is yes then exactly what is the value add?

The answer is yes. The sitemap.xml does not add to Froogle, it just gives Google an index of your site.

How did you originally add these products to your ZEN CART site?

The products were manually added to the catalog.

I've just updated to the latest versions of Google Base and Live Product Search Feeders (thank you very much for continued support BTW!) and have encountered a strange problem with Google Base Feeder.

It would appear that no records get placed into the Google Base Feeder output file - see below:

Google Base Feeder v.1.6.7 05.12.2007 12:53:59 started 2008/02/03 20:04:45

Processing: Feed - Yes, Upload - No
Google Base File Complete In 0.017869 Seconds 0 Records

By way of contrast, I've also upgraded the LPS Feeder and that works fine! I'm still using Zen Cart 1.3.7 and have Magic SEO URLs (with your add on).

Output files can be found at Google Base, and LPS.

As always, grateful for any thoughts pse.

DOH! Just thought I'd recheck that everything had been uploaded properly and noticed that I hadn't uploaded the admin files into the correct folder.
