That's set to a 4. Keep in mind that when you are on configuration - product listing, the first few options basic controls the column sequence and doesn't affect functionality. So product image is one, product name is 2....and so forth.
I am also using the column layout module so I don't know if that affects anything or not because with my setting of 1 I don't see a buy now button. The customer gets the option to add one item or multiple items to cart and click on add selected products to cart.

Anyone know if the standard behavior for that button supposed to take you to the product page? I thought it would add the product directly to the cart?
Either way, looks like i am in need of a developer to fix this.
