Blank screen on checkout-payment after upgrading to 1.3.8

What have you got in Admin > Modules > Order Totals?

If you have any additions outside of the standard zen cart ones?

COD: Fee ot_cod_fee
Discount Coupon: ot_coupon
Group Discount: ot_group_pricing
Gift Certificates: ot_gv
Low Order Fee: ot_loworderfee
Shipping: ot_shipping
Sub-Total: ot_subtotal
Tax: ot_tax
Total: ot_total

If you do, try turning them off and trying your checkout again.

Nope, no additions in the Order Totals section at all.

in fact, I have COD and Low Order Fee turned off completely

and no new modules in that area, or in the payment area either

in my testing, I am using GV to pay for the item.

When I forget to put in a GV amount, it will take me from the confirmation page to the paypal pages.

But if I put in the GV amount, I get the blank page instead of the "completed order" page

ideas? suggestions?

index.php?main_page=checkout_process is where I get the blank page...

I don't have that module installed, and yet am getting the same error.

I get to page 3, Order confirmation. And when I click the continue button, I get nothing but the black screen.

'Fraid thats a different error to this one more likely to be a misconfigured payment module (paypal??)

Try raising a new topic in the upgrading forum

I meet same problem.
Just remove all payment , shipping mothod and reinstill the payment and shipping in the admin. solved the blank problem.

Just wanted to say a quick 'thank you' to fiji for taking the time to post the solution to your problem.

I had just spent about 20 hours over two days upgrading from 1.3.7 to 1.3.8a and then customizing with templates and mods. Made numerous backups at various stages along the way, and tried each mod as it was added to be sure everything was ok.

Then somehow (?) earlier today my checkout just stopped working and I got nothing but a blank page after customer login.

I spent the last two hours tediously going through file comparisons, and db comparison trying to find the problem/solution.

To give my mind a break I decided to check the forum here to see if anyone else had the same/similar problem.

Found your post, did as suggested, and now everything is working great again.

I did removed all payments and all shipping and just installed PayPal Express and USPS and everytime it goes to checkout_payment I get the blank page.

Now if when showing the shopping cart, I click PayPal it goes trhough all the process and when exit PayPal that comes back to my site, it shows the Confirmation.

So I guess the Clicking Checkout Directly is looking for a Direct Gateway Credit card process. But I dont know Im newbie.
