Fastcgi for php

My web host offers offers a 'fastcgi for php' option, should I enable it or is it likely to cause any problems - it's not enabled by default?

In my web site control panel it says:

"FastCGI for PHP makes all your PHP applications run through mod_fastcgi instead of mod_phpsusexec. This eliminates the overhead of loading the PHP interpretor on every hit. Since it is always in memory ready for the next hit, the responses will be generated faster. NO MODIFICATIONS to your existing PHP applications will be performed so you can easily enable and disable it at will."

I run Zen Cart sites on Bluehost and Hostmonster with fastCGI turned on.
On Bluehost it did seem to make an improvement in speed.

I also run on bluehost. Turning on fastCGI seemed to speed up page loading.
