Anybody knows?!?
hi there - you can go to:
admin control panel, select customers>>orders. here you press the edit button, and change the status of that order to delivered. once you have saved, or updated this order, the product will be available as a download for your customer - they need to log into their account but it will be there.
zen cart doesn't make downloads available for immediate access, only once the payment has been processed and you manually change the status of that order.
hmmn. really?

One slight correction here, continuing on from DrByte's comment ...
If you set the Payment Module to have the Orders Status to be within the settings for Configuration ... Attribute Settings ...
Default is 2 (Processing):
Default is 4 (Updated):Downloads Controller Order Status Value >= lower value
Downloads Controller Order Status Value - Default >= 2
Downloads are available for checkout based on the orders status. Orders with orders status greater than this value will be available for download. The orders status is set for an order by the Payment Modules. Set the lower range for this range.
Example: Download ordered by Credit Card cc Payment Module might have the Orders Status set to Processing (orders_status 2) for immediate release and Check/Money Order moneyorder might have the Orders Status set to Pending (orders_status 1) for delayed release ...Downloads Controller Order Status Value <= upper value
Downloads Controller Order Status Value - Default <= 4
Downloads are available for checkout based on the orders status. Orders with orders status less than this value will be available for download. The orders status is set for an order by the Payment Modules. Set the upper range for this range.

ah, because I am using the offline credit card processing and i have that set to the default. which is why I had to manually do this. technically the order status has to be set, but I don't have to do this by hand anymore from just changing this setting in the control panel? Awesome, because I can't stand doing it one at a time...
Thanks Ajeh ! You are always so helpful.

Um ... If you're using the offline credit card module, then DO NOT change its status to automatically set the order to "Processing". Otherwise you'll be giving away free downloads before the card is ever charged!
You need to activate the orders one by one, by upgrading their status to Processing after you've processed the card. (click on the order, view the outer CC digits, match with inner digits, process the card, once approved enter the auth code in the order comments, change the status in the pulldown to Processing (or Delivered or whatever you want), check the box that says Notify Customer, and submit the status change. The customer will be emailed, and the download will be activated.
