Meta tags missing only on home page

The meta tags are working perfectly on all pages except the home page. Category pages are using the correct text from the admin, and EZ-Pages/cart pages are using the custom tags that we've defined in /includes/languages/english/OURTEMPLATE/meta_tags.php.

However, on the home page the tags are missing. They aren't using the generic tags from meta_tags.php: they're just blank, like this:

<title></title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<meta name="keywords" content="" />
<meta name="description" content="" />

Strange - but would hae to review many files to determine the cause -

As you are using your own template try switching to ther classic template and see if you then get any home page meta info and if so then you will have to determine what override file is the cause

How do I switch back to the default template?

Never mind, I figured it out! Changing to the classic template didn't have an effect on the meta tags - the home page is still broken. That means that the problem has to be somewhere in the default files, right?

Right....and if you have adhered to the override system you can reload all the files without harm to your edited files
