Help Please on Alignment and Colors

I am in the beginning process of setting up a store, and a followed the directions here for adding a custom template. Once the temp was chosen, all of my info has been moved towards the left. I would like all colums to be centered as before I changed this, and want to change the background color to an image. Would anyone be able to assist? Thanks in advance....
