Cool Zen-cart Buttons - http://zencart.buttonsworkshop.com/
Clarifications...
1. The reason for locating the GC mod support forum elsewhere (on Google Groups) was ONLY because the Zen Cart team would not allow a board for the GC mod (third party mod), supporting multiple-threads, on the ZC Support site (such as the board areas which support the Paypal modules, which are internally developed mods). I can understand ZC team reasoning here. But hence we are all left with this one huge monolithic thread.
2. On the other hand I understood the Google Checkout people communicated with Zen Cart team in an attempt to arrange an "integration partnership", similar as to what the Zen Cart team has with PayPal, and what many ecommerce shop software developers have with Google Checkout. But the ZC team declined.
Possibly the affiliation agreement language between PayPal and the ZC team, and the revenue received thereof, prevents the Zen Cart team from having any other partners. I recall the days when ZC team was not so positive whenever PayPal was mentioned.
3. The more recent versions of the GC mod were not developed by a "ZC forum member" per se. Instead was developed and supported by Ropu, whom was contracted directly by the Google Checkout team. After Ropu released the latest two GC mod versions at the very same time back in December (one for Zen Cart 1.37 and the other for Zen Cart 1.38), Google decided to not continue funding mod development or support. Thus the GC for ZC mod is no longer being actively developed or supported (since around the beginning of the year).
But of course anyone can run with the mod code and update/develop it to support the more recent improvements in the Google Checkout API.
4. Note the many postings and the GC mod help docs at the URL below, although dated, are still VERY relevant.
http://groups.google.com/group/googl...rt-mod-support
Google Checkout Terms of Service requires merchants NOT require customers to create a shop account or login to a shop during order checkout. Just like PayPal Express Checkout.
But with the Zen Cart check out process, a customer cannot proceed past the shopping cart page, nor advance to either the shipping method or the payment method pages, without being logged in.
Hence the GC button on the login and shopping cart page is required.
This "issue" has been repeated ad nauseam and responded to in both this thread and on the mod support group forum. Possibly why you received no response.![]()
Clarification of the clarification (Too late to edit post).
The GC for ZC mod still works well with Google Checkout. I meant to say Google contractors are no longer assigned to specifically develop/support the GC for ZC mod. Same with OSC.
What happens when the next major Zen Cart update is released is any one's guess. First party integration would be best.
I'm getting a similar error...My host just moved me to a new server for the umpteenth time. I'm thinking it has something to do with that as I am also now getting errors on any SSL page on my site.Originally Posted by colemanpa View Post

We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://www.gooeee.com/googlecheckou...nsehandler.php -- the error we got is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
I don't understand, the cert is installed and working
Doesn't explain why GC stopped notifying ZC of orders though...
I think you quoted the wrong person, I don't have any issue with the GC button being on the login page. I like it being there.
My question was relating to the 400 error code, which I fixed by switching my google checkout settings to XML instead of HTML under integration. Which I figured out myself, and is the only answer to a 400 error code on GC for ZC I could find on the interwebs and I'm proud of fixing it myself.
So what if all I figured out was the fact that I am a moron and had the wrong settings, I figured out that I was a moron all by myself.
I need to defend my internet honor!
Hi,
I'm running zencart 1.3.7 with Google checkout v1.4.6a. I've set everything up as it should be according to the instructions however when I look at my shipping rates they always appear up as £1.18 no matter what shipping method I select... any thoughts on this?
Thanks
Tim
