    Default UPS Shipping Module -- U.S. Only?

    I've been trying to configure the UPS shipping module to work for our store, based in Canada, and keep getting the "unable to obtain a rate quote" error. When I change the shipping configuration to U.S. as country of origin (and supply a U.S. zip code), however, it works just fine. This would seem to suggest that the UPS shipping module only works when shipping from the U.S., but I never saw this indicated anywhere explicitly in the forums or in the admin interface. So:

    a. Could somebody please confirm that the UPS shipping module indeed only works when shipments are from the U.S.?

    b. Does anybody have any suggested workarounds?

    OK, sorry, I've since found a few posts confirming that the UPS shipping module will only work with shipments originating in the U.S., and that the rest of us should use the UPS XML contribution. I'll give that a try and post any updates here for others in a similar situation.

    Just to close this discussion, wanted to report that I went ahead and installed the UPS XML contribution:

    and it seems to be working well, so I would recommend it to those who are shipping via UPS from outside the U.S.

    You may note that the contribution was written for Zen Cart version 1.2.5, and be worried about how it works with later versions, but I can report that it appears to be working well with Zen Cart 1.3.8a.
