setting up free downloads - problem!

Hi all, hoping you may be able to shed some light...

Have followed the tutorials available and set up free downloads of a couple of documents as a freebie extra in with my actual products that I'm selling online.

Now, apparently once set up by the prescribed methods, the checkout process should be skipped once the free download is put into the shopping cart. Well, after numerous attempts, the product is available for download, but the user must go through the shopping cart process still. Once you confirm your cart contents, a message appears: "sorry but we cannot process orders from your region at this time. Please contact us to arrange alternative methods" in red. You can still then proceed to the checkout, and once done the download will appear.

I would like to make it a little less confusing for the user!!

In the dropdown menu for the download against the option value, the words "was $0.00 now free" appears too, as well as the product ID. I have product ID's turned off, and its the only product that shows the product ID.
Don't know if these 3 are related, just trying to fill y'all in :)

Change the setting on the Attribute to NO

Attribute is Free
When Product is Free:
No Yes

Ok, thanks - that has got rid of the "was 0.00 now free" bit and the model name...
Now any ideas on the "not accepting payments for your region" one or the still having to go through the checkout part?

If you install the Modules ... Payments ... Zen Cart Free Charger freecharger ... then you can checkout with a $0.00 order ...

Thanks for the update that installing the Zen Cart Free Charger freecharger payment module allowed you to checkout with an Order for a $0.00 total ...
