Is there anyway to set the categories sidebox
to be a sorted list?
eg; alpha-numeric order
without useing the sort order, that is.

Well, you will have to edit the code which is used to build the category to change that. May I ask why you dont want to change the sort order?

not that i don't want to change all those 100's of entrys....
i just want the categories sidebox to list everything
in alpha numeric order instead of the w's in the middle of the list and some c's at the end

yup will have to change the code then, frankly speaking it sounds more trouble some that changing the sort order via admin.

i have it set on sort by name,
the categories on the admin side is right but on the store webpage
its all messed up
that can be changed by a admin setting?
