Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

Hi,

thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

In the admin, if i put the product code in the bottom left box and hit search then that box expands out with the option to update the product and a box on the right comes up with the relevant info to delete and update too. I can see all the relevant information in the database but just cant get it to display.

Ive got the tabbed products pro module installed too which is supposed to pick up the info automatically aswell but this isnt working.

Hmmm are there any tests i can do to ensure i have everything done correctly.

im not sure if the tab pro should pick it up.
If you are familiar with php you can try to debug it this way:
1. first you see that xsell will include the xsell template file, you want to go in there and do a die(); to make sure the file is really loaded.
2. Then you can var_dump the xsell object to see if the products are loaded correctly

Something like that. You may also want to check the setting in the admin-configuration-cross sell and see if any setting may trigger a condition that prevents products from being displayed.

hmmm now im a little bit confused!

Ive gone through and debugged everything and found that its the line

and p.products_status = 1

If i take this line out then it works pefectly. I have checked and the products_status does = 1 i the table but as soon as i put this line back i get 0 results.

Only problem is that you need this line in there otherwise you will show products that are disabled.

Looks like it was my fault after all! I copy some of my products over to a clearence section so that i can sell off stock item. I do this so that i only sell clearance in 1 size, otrherwise i would have to remove the attributes etc.

When i setup the cross sell i put in the model numbers and ofcourse as the script should it selected the first product ID it come to an entered it as the cross sell. On this occasion the first item was a clearance item that was disabled. Looks like ill have to input by product ID from now on.

Might be worth putting this a small note for a future release, having a warning box pop up if there are duplicate model numbers??

Sure, I will have that warning as well

It will be a major overhaul, lots of changes, and i kinda want to wait for 2.0 but maybe i should go ahead and just do it now. Have to wait till i finish some big projects on hand here first tho.

Re-upload again, the file needed is xsell_advanced.php not xsell.php. Make sure you dont get the wrong download package.

the file xsell_advanced.php I have upload and exists.

But I have also the file xsell.php in
\admin\includes\languages\english

so it appear in
admin>catalogue>cross-sell products

but this link doesn't go

I have download the version mod rev 185

and I don't see the products charged for xsell

What do you mean by "it doesnt go"? When you click on it, what do you see on your browser address bar?
