Are permissions on your output folder (/feed) set to to 777?
You might also try deleting the feed file from that folder and then generate a new one after correct permissions are set on output folder.

    Hello,

We are using the Google Base Feeder and we are receiving the following from Google regarding our feed.

**Keep in mind that when we were using the previous feeder before upgrading to this newest version - we did not have these errors from Google. The following is the discussion we had with Google**

    From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]
    Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2009 8:48 PM
    To:
Subject: [#385790279] Google Base data feed file status on "XXXX.xml": Data feed contains some errors

Outcome: Data feed contains some errors
    Number of items processed: 359
    Number of inserted items: 292
Uploaded at: January 8, 2009 7:44:30 PM EST
Processed at: January 8, 2009 8:42:13 PM EST

    Hello,

Thank you for your email. I've reviewed your data feed and noticed the following errors:

Some of the items in your data feed have expiration date values that are too large. Currently, the expiration date attribute may not contain a value that exceeds the default expiration date for your item type. For example, product listings will expire 30 days from the posting date, even if the expiration date is set farther in the future. To ensure that your items remain active, we recommend updating your feed at least once per week. Please visit http://base.google.com/support/bin/a...er=30013&hl=en for a full list of item type expiration limits.

Further, some of the items in your file are failing because your feed contains unsupported characters. For example, certain white space characters, such as tabs, may not process correctly and will result in a feed failure. To correct this error, please remove all unsupported characters from your feed and upload your file again.

Additionally, any items that are missing required attributes will no longer process successfully. Items missing recommended attributes will still process successfully, however, we strongly suggest you include information about those attributes if possible. For example, you haven't included descriptions for some of your items. If your items don't contain a description, please include the title of the item in the description field for the item to process successfully.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Brighty
    The Google Team

    Hi there,

Last time I took a look at the feed it showed that it processed but many items were not included due to errors. We did not ever have any errors in the past except one time. We wrote to Google and they told us they changed something in what "encoding" would be accepted and it worked from that point on ...... until now.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
    Hello,

Thank you for your email. As informed earlier, the reason a few items from your file are failing is because your feed contains unsupported characters. For example, in the description for the item titled 'Iomega 1GB JAZ Drive (External SCSI) for PC & MAC' there are certain white space characters, such as tabs and symbols such as '™' which may not process correctly. These will result in a feed failure. To correct this error, please remove all unsupported characters from your feed and upload your file again.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Brighty

JLA: I had the same problem after I upgraded to 1.7.3
    Processed: 232
    Inserted: 173

My solution was to revert to 1.7 and now I do not have any errors.

    What version are you using?

Without a description of the errors we cannot hope to resolve the issues.

Per one of our last posts - this is what Google wrote to us why the items were unable to be processed. We did not have this problem before and these item descriptions have not changed.

Sure, I had problems with my feed with special characters just like this. When You edit an item with a WYSIWYG editor like FCK or htmlarea all special characters are saved as the character itself. Like the copyright symbol © or a superscript TM

You will need to edit your item with the TEXT only option and use the ascii code equivalent and save it.

Unfortunately every time you edit these items with a wysiwyg editor it will replace the ascii codes with the special character. I opted to NOT use them at all and saved the hassle.

    Thanks, rastabloke
You do Not upload the "google_base_froogle_feeder_1-7-0a" folder, just the stuff in the "google_base_feeder" folder like:

    admin
    feeds
    includes
    numinix_version
    googlefroogle.php

into your sites Zen Cart root folder.

Make sure that the file googlefroogle.php is in the same folder that your root index.php is in.

You do NOT need to upload the sql_updates folder or any of the .sql .txt or .html files.

Hey Thanks for all of your hard work. I read through the first 20 or 30 posts, looked at the mod description and all the files in the zip and didn't see an answer for this quick question.

Does this mod upload the Sale Price, Specials Price or only the base Retail Price?

Thanks, I told you it was quick.
