    Default EasyPHP, Wamp or Xamp on Vista?

    Need thoughts on which one is the best to install and use with Windows Vista

    As just a dev base, I like easyphp...

    If you want or need mail etc Xamp seems better suited

    All went well but no little flashing box by the bottom corner of the E when started

    1. using Vista
    2. error message: unexpected end of mysql

    I do not use Vista and have ripped it off every thing I own with Windoze. But as I recall, you must be logged in as an admin to install/run this or any of the others

    You should when successful, have a CP in the tool bar at the bottom and all can be run from there....might try if you have it to restart mysql and or both

    And don't install in C:/Program Files.

    Thanks, I will uninstall the EasyPHP 3.0 in the C:/Program Files

    Ok,

    1. Operating System: Vista Home
    2. downloaded file to:
    3. C:/users/xxxxxx/downloads/EasyPHP 3.9
    4. rebooted computer
    5. click the easyphp icon
    6. E, with red box on right bottom corner appears in system tray
    7. Right mouse clicked: Started the process
    8. Mouse hover over Icon: says started
    9. Now: No blinking red square again
    10. In browser: Firefox
    11. http://localhost
    12. nothing
    13. What next

    Well, I have seen this problem with xampp.

    Are you able to install to C:\ and NOT another folder?

    In Windows, I made a folder called C:\web and installed to that.
