User tracking mod

Sounds like you need to change some settings in your php.ini file. Change the max memory to 64MB, change the script execution time to something like 120 seconds or whatever will work for you. We use this mod with php 5.2.8 without any of these problems.

This problem seems to occur with any generated page size greater than 1meg.
It also occured with the Sales Report mod for large page sizes

The default memory size for php 4.4.8 was 8meg
The default memory size for the php 5.2.8 was also 8meg
Further reading at the php site say that the default for php 5.2.8 should be 32meg

As suggested above I used a custom php.ini file and changed the memory size to 32meg

No more problems
It seems that my host did not increase the memory size for php5 as they should have

Hi all:

I just upgraded to 1.3.8a from 1.3.7 and I'd love to get the user tracking mod back working (I've looked into "Supertracker" but it looks to have some bugs too).

I PM'd bumba000 to request his modified files but have received no reply.

Does anyone have the working fileset for 1.3.8a? Please PM me!

Im not going to put this up as an update but if you are having similar problems or any problems with your install into 1.3.8a pm me.
Ill give you the user_tracking.sql and the file set with the code that works in the footers.

I had forgotten what I did when I went from 1.3.7 to 1.3.8a to make user tracking work and I didn't bother to look at it now. I went to a working 1.3.8a store downloaded my working user tracking files. Then I went to my db and downloaded just the table structure of the user tracking table with the add if not exists.

I put all of this together in a package. Used it the other 1.3.8a stores and they work fine now too!

Super Tracker works, but I'd really like to use "User Tracker".

If anyone has this working I'd like to know what the fix is.

I have it installed and working on 1.3.8 is it supposed to not work? I must be missing something.

It will work in 1.3.8, but not like it did in 1.3.7, not even close.

For me I can't stop it from displaying spiders like Google, or Yahoo. Which means that once Google or Yahoo hits my site they will use up all allotted space and nothing else will be recorded.

It also records the pages I look at. I've set it to not record my IP, but it does anyway

I sell phyiscal products in the store, and Info products under Marketing Software Group.

I use Zoom Stats, http://www.marketingsoftwaregroup.co...ats/index.html

to record ALL pages, but User Tracker is best for store stats.

Did you upgrade from 1.37, or is your 1.38 a fresh install?
Do you have any other MODs installed?

Hi Gary,,its a new install,,,so thats why I dont know what I m missing! Yes I have another mod installed. I installed image handler 2, which I think is working well. The Zen Cart software is the best.

Yes...User Tracking for 1.3.7 was the best such software I've used.

The ability to follow the path of users through the store was very useful. I'm not sure that SuperTracker or any other software allows you to do the same thing.

I would certainly be willing to make a "donation" to someone with the programming ability (which I lack!) to get this working for 1.3.8.

I could see how that would work now. Since my store is new I have only a few records to look at...now that google and yahoo are starting to spider they are taking up space that customers normally would. Now I understand. I would donate to.

Is it possible for user tracking mod to track clicks to other pages.
I have a link on some of my products to open another page in a new window it can be seen here:

If you look in the product description and see the link at the bottom. I would like to be able to have user tracking track that page too.

No...this mod will only track the Zencart pages that a user accesses.

I still haven't got this mod working in v1.3.8. If anyone is able to help, please PM me!
