The fix is easy though, just manually create a .keep file there (after the module has already installed itself, of course)

fair enough, just 2 questions (then hopefully SMOOTH SAILING!!)

1. how do i create a .keep file? it is not an extension i am familiar with... and what should the full file name be? (i do have dreamweaver if that is an easier program to use, or it may be as simple as wordpad?)

2. this says after the module has already installed itself... but it hasn't installed itself, that's why im getting the error? or it has installed itself (simply because i can see it in zen cart admin) it just cant RUN without this file?

huhm, you can simply create such file in your windows, i believe.

ok! that fixed the error in module manager... i am going to try to re-install the x-sell advanced mod from the zip file off your posting yesterday/day before...

i will keep u posted on further developments.


fyi: for anyone else who may have this problem in the future, just go to the correct folder in cpanel file manager, then click new, put in .keep as the file name. it WILL NOT show, it will seem as if it didnt work, but if you go into a more detailed viewer like file manager legacy, it is indeed there.

yellow, thanks for your patience! for whatever reason, the download from "free software add-ons" just didnt have the right files or something, but your replacement was fine!

the mod is showing now in the "catalog" AND "configuration" menus...

LOVE the addon!!

if i can trouble you for one more question, i would appreciate it.

i do not use model #s on my products.. (though i could if i need to).. so when i am setting up the cross sells, im not going to remember in 4 months which one is "#4" and which one is "#19"... is there a way to display in admin a master product list, that bypasses the categories and subcategories? i just want to see products 1-50 in a line, where as right now, 1-4 are in collars, 5-9 and 12 are in leashes etc... i have to go into each folder to see what is there...

ur thoughts?
if there is no way to do this, i can assign model numbers i guess... so i can just look them up by my paper database, but sorting in admin either way would be easier!

Right now, only id and model are available. Im working on a new version tho, just havent got the time for it yet

is there a way in admin to sort a master list of products, that disregards category, and simply goes 1 thru xx by ID number?

Im talking about the admin, actually.

BTW, you can use id instead of model by going to the configuration setting and choose to use id instead

Hi everyone. I too am getting the "Please input main product's model" error. I tried replacing the init_yclass.php file under admin/includes/init_includes... and it didn't work.

I am trying to remove the module manager as was suggested but I don't know how to remove the 'module_version_tracker' table. Can anyone walk me through it? I am new to SQL.

Hi Yellow 1912, any clue as to what I might be missing?

several configuration options (separator option, ID/model option and sort status ) missing from admin and mod does not recognize my multiple inputs...asks me for 2 or more product IDs when I have added 3 or more with comma separators.

I installed the version you gave me and no change.

to bcsurf and studiotucker here is my advice (per yellow):

1. go back thru your files and sytematically remove all files uploaded by the module manager and the adv. cross sell mod.

this is a pain in the ***, but what i did was have three windows up, 1, a backup copy of my database prior to installing these mods *so that i could make sure i wasnt deleting anything that was an original file* 2, my current database, and 3, the zip file from the mods.... i compared the 3 and made sure i had everything deleted...

2. go to the phpmyadmin and delete anything related to either mod, including "module_version_tracker"....

3. re-install the module manager files, then go to zen cart admin and let it auto install, per the instructions. if it works, great... if it doesnt, follow the prior posts between yellow and i to re-create the .keep file

4. once module manager is working correctly, reinstall the x-sell mod, from the zip file yellow provided the link to a few days ago, in this thread... this is the most current version
