Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

HI,
I run Google Base Feeder successfully , however on my other website the base file name is domain_base_us_feed ,
whenever I run the upload to google script the file uploaded is domain_base_us_feed_products , due to this extra word "products" I cannot auto update.

Any solutions ?

Are you uploading to Google base manually? If so try add .xml at the end. domain_base_us_feed_products.xml If that doesn't work change the name to one word like domainbase1 it will work then.

If I upload it manually through google base website the file gets accepted, however when I run the googlefroogle.php the file does not get uploaded automatically , the word product is added after the file name.

Yes my last solution will be to create a new feed with name ending with _products , this seems to work.

Any help appreciated.

Why do you upload it automatically from your store admin/google base? You can just as easily let Google base get it from you automatically. Just go to Google base/Data feeds look under Schedule/create and put in the information for the time you would like Google to grab your feed. This is a lot simpler that using the store to do it.

Well the store auto upload not only uploads the feed but also updates it, this becomes totally automatic.

No your feed will be the exact same unless you set a cron to generate the feed before the time you've set for Google to parse the feed file on your server.

In response to your previous email, you are supposed to set a name in the admin like "domain" and then register your feed with Google Base as "domain_products" or "domain_documents" or "domain_news." The last part of the file name is automatically appended for each feed type to avoid overwriting other feeds.

ok things are getting fixed for my feed finally. I have noticed that it was not accepting all my products and couldnt figure out why...Well, it would seem that it does not like some of the descriptions. If you enter products with a description that includes quotations, hyphens, etc and their not done correctly with the ascii code list then google base will not take them.

So...for all those people that have been having issues, this takes time to go thru the whole file, but it will fix all the issues.

Help please.
I was using the google base feed version 1.68 and was able to generate feed successfully. The only problem was that the condition attribute was missing from the feed. Since Google is now requiring the condition attribute, I tried to upgrade to the latest version of the mod i.e ver 1.7.4.
Now the feed runs and completes immediately within few fractions of seconds with 0 records inserted.
When I revert back to 1.68. all my items are inserted into the feed but no condition attribute.
I tried to install all versions after 1.68 up to 1.74 but the feed generated includes 0 records.
HELP guys. How can I fix this? I read the thread but could not find a suitable solution.
I am running zen cart 1.3.8a on php5. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a site that contains ascii code?

it takes a bit of time going through all the lines but just using find, you can catch where all the errors are.

Thanks a lot,
But I am a bit curious about this. Why does version 1.68 work fine and not version 1.74.
I am not if I have any ASCII code anywhere but am looking through the codes now.
I just don't understand why the upgrade is breaking the feed.
