Have you changed anything at all besides adding the security patch, within the last few days?

Did your shop work without problems before adding the security patch?

Did your shop "ever" work after adding the security patch?

Looking via FTP at the file:
    /includes/functions/html_output.php

what is the date on it?

I have not changed anything on the site. The site went blank before the patch and the same after I added it. The site never worked after adding the patch except for the admin section which has always worked fine. The date on the html_output in for the 30th. I did reupload it to make sure that it was ok.

No I did not add the core file. What made me think it had not been hacked was that the client changed and added the free shipping methods.. The other older posts talked about a blank page with that issue. I know that I should move my admin folder but I was afraid to change anything at first, I am more comortable working with Zen cart now and so probably should.

Not sure if you were asking me or one of the others. I am the one who added all debug program and it would not write any files to cache folder?

The client is not panicking and so I would like to fix myslef but perhaps I should hire someone to fix it? Can I buy someone a couple of coffees?.

I would really need to see your site to see what you have done to break things ...

What you might want to do is get something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com where you can do an FTP compare of a clean checkout of Zen Cart v1.3.8 and the files on your server to see where the problems might be ...

This could be a configuration issue on your site or something more extensive, but without actually looking at this site it is much harder to pinpoint ...

Having been changing permissions and such on your site and not seeing any type of errors with the Debug Tool you're site is also one that Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com would be of help to locate issues ...

Again, without actually looking at your files/site and configuration it is hard to guess at the issues ...

You may drop me a PM if you wish and would could discuss this further over coffee ...

I haven't done a thing to break the site, like I said it worked fine for several months and haven't touched it since. A customer called my client and said that the cart is down and than I applied the patch to see if that would rectify the problem.

I will look into the Beyond Compare however I am still curious why the Debug tool will not work for me? I Added it as instructed and then clicked on catalogue to try to view (from within admin) , I know the directions said try to perform an action so you can see what the error notes are. Any ideas or other posts I may have missed on getting the debug tool to work? Thanks.

The debug tool doesn't work for me either. I've tried everything I can think of. Anyone has suggestions for fixing this?
