Ok I've followed the instructions in the readme but I still don't get Google to show up under Admin - Configuration. Does anyone know why? I added the following code to the end of tpl_main_page.tpl (the other code was already there), reuploaded that file along with the files in admin & includes and applied the install patch. I am using the template_default. Any suggestions????

You need to run the SQL installation patch that comes with the download in order to get the admin portions to show up.

i did copy and paste the entire text file into the 'Install SQL pateches' box. i have tried doing it again and still no joy.

If you copied and pasted then ran the patch you should see a statement telling you that "xxx' (40 or so) statements ran successfully.

If you see this then the patch was installed and should be in your admin.

You may need to logout and then log back into see it. Also make sure you have cleared your cache in your browser just in case.

Hi! How do I uninstall Simple Google Analytics? Sorry, but I am a noob, so would appreciate a step by step instruction. thank you!

Step 1:
Remove (delete) all files that were installed by the mod (there is only 1).

Step 2:
Open your tpl_main_page.php file and remove the line that looks like this:

Step 3:

Run the uninstall sql patch found in your downloaded files and called:

I'm getting a funny error when trying to do a site overlay. Everything else within analytics seems to be working just fine, but I need to see what people are clicking on!

20002: Access denied. Please try relaunching site overlay from the report.

Any idea why I'm getting this error?

My adwords and sales are being tracked fine. I've turned on the ecommerce tracking in GA. I'm running ZC 1.3.8 and I installed simple GA last july so I'm not sure which version I'm using. Any help would be appreciated.

You don't upload the install file. You use it like all other module installs. Login to your admin and then go to the Install SQL Patch (under tools).

Copy and paste the lines of code from within the "install" file into the text area and click the submit button.

If you are using Simple Google Analytics then the ecommerce tracking is built in so it won't be a "module based" problem (even the earlier versions should allow ecom tracking).

The likely cause is on the Google end or in the tracking code you chose.

Make sure you setup ecommerce tracking within your Google Account for the proper "tracking id" (if you have multiple ones).

The other thing you may want to try is to switch to the legacy tracking code (done from within the admin configuration of zen cart) to see if that works. Both tracking options should be ok, but we're trying to eliminate possible causes here.

See if any of those help.

I am getting frustrated with this Analytics mod. I have followed the install instructions correctly. When I go to the Google Analytics page, the status shows "tracking software not installed". What am I doing wrong here ??
