Admin Profiles (for v1.3.x only!) Support Thread

I apologise, but can assure you that I had no intention of making unfounded and derogatory comments about your mod! My knowledge of all this is fairly limited and seeing as the hack took place after the admin feature was installed, I just linked it to be the cause. So apologies for my ignorance if this isn't the case. You see, once it was installed, the admin seemed to be behaving a bit odd, i.e it would appear to be logged in but not, then id have to log out and in again to access the admin fully. Then I went away, came back and the site was hacked and someone messaged me to tell me the admin was not asking for a password so it was easy to access by anyone so what was I supposed to think? I just made the assumption that the mod caused this, or not neccessarily the mod itsself, perhaps because it was not installed correctly or not compatible with my version of zen.

I've heard some reports of this, but alas to date, never with enough information (in particular version numbers for Zen Cart and all mods involved) to be able to reproduce and thus investigate it. If you can provide me with some data, I'd rather like to get to the bottom of this.

I dont know whats going on I installed it on another shop had no proberlm but for somereason it wont work again

It's not fixed. Only partially over-written. You're still running software from the categories mod that is trying to access a function that you have have removed with your over-writing.

I recommend cleaning the code from that mod out completely. It's unlikely to be exactly the same shape as Admin Profiles so just installing that on top won't clean the other out.

Thanks Kuroi I went and deleted all the files from the other script and ftp a admin bk up i had and i can get into my catagories again and save my selections which is awesome so it did point me in right direction thank you :) I just have a little problem now where in a couple of my addons eg my file library addon i get the error Sorry, your security clearance does not allow you to access this resource.
Please contact your site administrator if you believe this to be incorrect.

Uninstalling is little more than reversing the installation instructions - if anything it's easier.

Replace the box files with the equivalents from a fresh Zen Cart release pack. Reverse the patches listed on step 3. Delete the files listed in steps 2. Delete the admin_menu_headers, admin_visible_headers, admin_files and admin_allowed_pages tables from your database and you're done.

I puzzled over this for ages - then noticed an error message that appeared at the top of the page when I tried to save the new profile. Passwords have to longer than 5 characters, or it doesn't make a new account.

Or maybe it's only me that doesn't notice error messages....

Oh - & I have problem of my own.

I have tried Admin Profiles out, on a brand-new 'test' installation. No add-ons, no modifications, no nothing.

Admin Profiles is brilliant - I have created a secondary account that has only the options that the user needs.

However, when I try to access 'Attributes Controller' in this new account a get the following message:
"Sorry, your security clearance does not allow you to access this resource.Please contact your site administrator if you believe this to be incorrect. Sorry for any inconvenience".

I really need this option to be available - any suggestions, please?

I am having the same problem but with it is not a fresh install. I had to do a new admin and everything is there still and looks ok but it does not save. I can make the new user but when I try to save permissions for them it does not save. I get booted back to the main admin home screen with no error messages. Further looking at it I am unable to save any changes to any of the existing admins either. The only change that has been made to my store is installing the security patch. [my version is zen 1.3.8a]
