Here is an update on the Yahoo problem.
Regarding this "curl malformed" message that I was getting I contacted my webhost Hostgator, they are quite a big outfit.
They contacted Yahoo and got a "Limit exceeded" warning.
They suggested that I scale down the frequency of the pings, so I set the cron to ping weekly instead of daily, and eventually it went through without errors.
So, this confirms what I thought: they are very cautious about their site not getting brought down again by a DDoS attack, and are limiting (too strictly) the number of pings that can be sent.
I know that none of the other SEs complain about a daily ping, but Yahoo does.
I think it is overkill, but that's the way it is.

It seems the problem is not getting to fix...yet!

Enabling "Generate language_id for default language" in certain conditions nothing changes.

If I set false "Generate language_id for default language":

sometimes the tool generates the italian sitemap and sometimes the english sitemap. Never the tool generates the complete ita/eng tree.

Anyone has any little idea to focus on?

    Cheers!

Just installed SitemapXML and the process was pretty painless.

I guess it's not a big deal, but...my categories site map only includes 1 category vs. the 4 categories that exist in my store. Anyone know why? I am using Simple SEO URL as an add-on to the most recent version of ZC and suspect that might have something to do with it. Interestingly, the categories that were excluded only contain one product.

I'm embarrassed to ask, but here goes:

Where would I be able to see my index page within the site map(s)? The sitemapindex.xml file only lists my 3 other site maps. Those site maps are of my EZ pages, products and categories, so where would my home page be listed?

    Thanks in advance!

I just installed on v1.38 but does anyone have any idea why my main sitemap index page, as accesible through http://www.roncopromotions.com/index...age=sitemapxml, wouldn't list ANY of my 4 other ("real") sitemaps?

I just upgraded to this version from the Google XML sitemap. Now Google Webmastertools reports that none of the urls submitted in my "new" sitemap are indexed. This concerns me, the urls should be the same as my old ones, and they should already be indexed. Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

    Hi,
I'm running 1.3.8, ez pop, ceon mapping. Store is few months in making and running fine until now. I installed this addon. Configured it. Ran it. Everything went fine. Created sitemaps. Exited, then came back and couldn't login. I receive the following error msg:

    0 DB_ERROR_NOT_CONNECTED
    in:
    [select * from zen_project_version WHERE project_version_key = 'Zen-Cart Database' ]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Also, the store is acting erratically in that some of the links are fine and some give me the following message:

    "Sorry!
There seems to be a problem connecting to our database. Please give us a few minutes to remedy the problem. Thank you."

I scanned the forums, and google. Didn't see specifics on this error other than a suggestion to look at configure.php which I did and it hasn't changed.

Do I need to uninstall this as it somehow affected my database. If so, how, since I don't have access to admin on zencart any more.

Should I restore my backup database?

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thank you. Essentially down for the count right now.

Dead store issue resolved, but I still don't know why it happened, but it's outta there for now. Did end up with the first good sitemap when it did work for the first half hour or so. If anyone has any thoughts they would still be welcomed. Thanks.

You will have to excuse my ignorance but it seems like we jumped from step 2 to 5 in the directions, how do you get it to generate the sight maps? I installed everything and set the cronjob and thought it would run as a routine in the wee hours of the morning. However I checked it today and all the site maps are still empty and zero in size.

any help? I do realize the problem is more then likely me lol

First off, thank you for making this add-on and for sharing it with all of us.

The above quote is the only response I've found so far to several people who are having the problem of Google not indexing their products. I'm in the same boat, I used this program and submitted my sitemaps to Google and they are not showing errors at all. However, all sitemap*.xml files are indexing except the products one. It is showing 161 URLs submitted and 0 indexed. I have resubmitted them, with no positive results other than again, no errors... but no indexing either. I've waited several days now and it is still not indexing. Anyone have any other ideas besides being patient?

    Thanks!

This was very helpful.. I too was getting the Yahoo 403 Curl errors.. I changed my XML Sitemap settings to compress the sitemaps, and presto.. The Yahoo submission was successful.. Thanks to you and ckosloff for the hints and help on this issue..
