Ok, so I'm working on a store for a friend and it is currently not live (so I'll be doing the space thingy in the url), but I'm trying to resize the javascript window that the "larger image" loads in. I followed the instructions in this thread and the main support site--the dimensions I want (and what I set them to in the jscript_main file) are W375 H563, and the image is showing up in those dimensions as it is the size of the file, but the box itself is popping up at W463 H700. Isn't the javascript file supposed to set the popup window itself?

    Test item is here:
    http:// g e n r e c a m p .com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=19_20_24&products_id=4

Sorry to bump an old thread, but there are already so many threads with "larger image" in the title, I didn't want to add to the clutter...

help question Re: HOW-TO: Image Preparation

I'm trying this additional images option, but it's not having it.

    I have read the following...

    https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=58

"UFO" being the base image name I have tried the following combinations, but still it will not list multiple images.

    images/UFO.jpg
    images/UFO_01.jpg

I have also tried a sub folder...

    images/ufo/UFO.jpg
    images/ufo/UFO_01.jpg

    My site is www.area3d.co.uk

I'm using v1.3.9 Can anybody tell me how to make the additonal image larger? I know this is controlled by the admin>configure>images>small image setting but when I make it larger it makes my thumbnails in my new items side box larger and throws off the whole layout. Here's a link to the page I'm playing with,

I need help...I've asked this question in IH2 as well, I'm sorry for the double posting...seems there's a gray line as to where my question actually belongs. So I hope I can get help from one of these posts.

I've been using IH2 to upload my product images. I was looking to be able to do this using FTP instead but I wanted to keep with the IH2 resizing feature.

I've done some reading, looks like if I upload images via FTP they will need to have the MED & LRG verbage built into the image file name so that IH2 will recognize the image. Am I understanding this correctly? However, saving them to reflect MED & LRG to have your site running your images optimally it's suggested to resize each of these MED & LRG files accordingly?

I want to have IH2 resize my pictures but I need a faster method of upload that the method provided in admin. Preferbly via FTP. I'm just confused...going in circles over this and it really is my final piece to the puzzle so I can wrap up this site.

    Your help is appreciated!

This is only true if you are NOT using IH2..

IH2 creates the medium and small images for you.. You do not need to create medium or large images. IH2 creates the medium and small images based on image settings in the admin (covered in the IH2 readme). So for IH2 to work you only have to upload the largest image when you upload your product images and IH2 will do the rest (create the small and medium images).

Not that I mind helping, but the readme file for IH2 REALLY does cover this in excruciating detail.. if the readme isn't covering this well then let me know and I'll address it..

(again this part is NOT related to IH2 but is a function of how Zen Cart works)
Again.. Yes you can FTP images and IH2 will recognize them.. Upload the largest product images and IH2 will create the small and medium images for you...

However that said IH2 or no IH2, you cannot FTP your main product images and expect that Zen Cart will magically KNOW which product they go with.

You still have to TELL Zen Cart where to locate the image associated with a specific product. Do you have to upload the image when you create the product NO.. Zen Cart has features which allow you to link your product to an image already on the server..

So yes you can FTP your images, but you will at some point have to at least link the MAIN product image to the product.

Hope this all is clearer now..

Default Help- What Am I Doing Wrong?

Oh my goodness... I have read this forum topic on images - all 27 pages- probably ten times.. I have followed directions on prepping images - and have created 3 different size images for the images folder- the images/medium folder and the images/large folder..

    Everything is uploaded.

    I have two problems...

First... I have set up categories- and sub categories.. I "thought" on the sub category pages- that my product(s) would come up as thumbnails- and people could click on them for more information.

So far- not true.. What I get- is if you click on the subcategory- a mid sized image pops up with full description and add to cart...

Second problem: I really don't know what settings are wrong- but the same small image I uploaded when creating my product- is used throughout the whole process!!

Here is url of my site- ( using zencart 1.3.9 ) and I'd LOVE if someone can help me.. It has to be something simple... Just has to be!!

    http://www.justforkeeps.net/index.php

Now- I have only added one product so far- just to make sure things are working right.. So- if you could click on the category to the left- Folk Art/ Primitives- then you'll see it adds my sub categories... Please click on spring/summer- to see where I am talking about...

( p.s.. I wish that I could also change that message- new products for november- as I don't like it- and on the product listing- it adds the time and date product was listed- and I don't like that either )

Okay- guess this is more than one issue- and after really searching and searching and searching- I just have to come in and ask for help!!!!

Thanks ever so much to you all that have been here before!!

    Niki

    at the respective sizes
