Sounds like a glitch in a so-called SEO addon of one variation or another.

maybe some sort of sitemap addon you've submitted to google?

Zen Cart doesn't generate that kind of URL natively, so it's got to be related to something you've altered either in the store or in something you've instructed google to index.

I beg to differ. All your URLs are not URLs that Zen Cart generates natively. You have some sort of addon installed.
ie: http://www. ethi ca lp ar tyba gs .com/empty-party-bags-c-73.html

No... If all your URL's are ending in .html, then you have added something else. SitemapsXML does not alter the URL format.

    www.xxxxxxxxxxx.co.uk/exam-bag-p-185.html

Is not native URL behaviour for ZC. You have a SEO module in there somewhere.

    Hi

Thanks for all your replies. the only addons I have added are:

    xml sitemap
    adding customers from admin
    editable sidebox
    product listing in colums.

    I'm getting rather worried!!!

    Hi

Just realised I had the following set as TRUE:

CONFIGURATION- SEO URL- ENABLE SEO Url

    Would this make a difference?

Also I have now set it as FALSE - will this mean Google will index these new pages and find them the same as the ones it indexed when I had it set as TRUE and think something dodgy is going on?

    Thanks

    Matt

This is a long shot... but go to:

admin >>> tools >>> developer tool kit ...

And do some searches for " SEO " and suchlike...

Use the last field on the screen and select both catalog and admin for the search parameters...

Just try some typical SEO sort of words... This may reveal something.

Also, many mod writers put their names into the PHP heads, so go look at whose been writing such mods and try their nicknames in that search too...
