OLD Super Orders 2.0 (See v3.0 thread instead)

I didn't include the upgrade files at all. Based in the posts in the support thread it appeared that there were very few remaining Super Orders 1.x users. Also without having a method to test the upgrade file, I omitted it from the Rev48 package.

I'm sure you can use the one form previous versions, but I have not tested.. AND unless you are running Super Orders v 1.x, you don't need this file anyway..

I was updating from a more recent version, turns out I didn't need the upgrade routines. But when I saw UPGRADE.txt in the list of files shown in the rev48 README I got paranoid that something was missing.

I've got rev48 up and running nicely now. Nice job on bringing all of these fixes together. Mucho appreciado!

De nada.. When I find time to make the other minor fixes I wanted to make I'll update the readme to remove the UPGRADE.txt reference.. (Silly copy & paste mistake..)

I have installed Super orders and I am glued to it. I simply love it. Its damn easy and extremely handy when a customer calls and cant order him/herself for any reason.

I noticed the "Orders" is missing from the drop down menu in admin, the default name that comes with Zencart. I read in the readme as you stated that Super orders optional components disables it.

I stupidly didnt read that line where you said about orders.php gets disabled. I want it back, so I can install edit orders addon and i can edit the orders using orders instead of super orders, because in SO you cant edit orders yet..

Is there any way of enabling that button (orders) in the admin drop down menu/ making it appear again? thank you so much.

EDIT: I got it to show in the dropdown box by editing customers_dhtml.php in the admin/includes/boxes

A line is commented and I deleted that comment and I also editied the filenames.php and it showed the name.

This is an incorrect statement.. You can edit orders in Super Orders if you follow the directions in the Edit Orders module to add the right code to Super Orders. Also if you look in BOTH the Edit Orders support thread AND this support thread I posted a high level view of how I was able to do this very thing..

I will just use Orders for editing and super orders for processing orders and other stuff.

Editing orders is NOT included ANYWHERE in the Super Orders package.. Instructions for adding the code to merge Edit Orders with Super Orders is posted HERE:

if you are replacing the stock order management with Super Orders there is no reason why you can't use Edit Orders with Super Orders. In fact there are instructions in the Edit Orders readme file which address SPECIFICALLY how to incorporate Edit Orders with Super Orders. There are also several threads in this support thread which give guidelines on how to achieve this integration as well.. (Including one posted by yours truly which I believe provides a lot more detail than other posts in past have provided on the subject)

The "Optional Files" included with the Super Order Rev 48 mod are just that, OPTIONAL. Please read the whole README file BEFORE INSTALLING THE MODULE so that you understand what the purpose of all the files including the optional files.

There is NO WHERE to do this in Super Orders. There are some other modules which provide this kind of functionality, and since they all modify the orders.php file (on which Super Orders is based), like Admin Notes/Comments and Edit Orders, it should be pretty simple to merge the code for these mods into the super_oprder.php file. (you'll need a tool like Winmerge or Beyond Compare to assist with this)

This part above requires further clarification.. There is some LIMITED editing that can be done within Super Orders.. The following is from the readme file (yet another reason why you should read the ENTIRE readme file before installing ANY mods):

Editing Features
---------------------------

Location: Admin > Customers > Super Orders > "detail" button
There are multiple edit links that prompt for editing specific parts of the order data.


You'll find three links placed around the Super Orders page, each handling a specific set of data. Those groupings are:

• Contact/address data
• Split Order
• Order totals

Each brings up a popup window to edit the specified information. Submitting and closing the window will refresh the page to display your changes.
NOTE: Full order edit functionality is a major undertaking, and was never included in the Super Orders code. As in earlier versions, Super Orders offers the ability to split an order. Instructions are included in this readme which covers how to integrate Super Orders with "Edit Orders" for those who require order edit functionality.
