Moved servers, now left without sidebox, footer and categories on main page

I broke my store once again (sorry dear zen buddies...)

I have moved the store from one server to another because my boss was fed up with the server problems ( I couldn't agree more with him...lol)

Anyway.. Movement on it's own went fine, everything seems to be in place but I am missing the categories, right sideboxes and footer on the main page. On all the other page (just click one cat on the left) you can see they are functioning fine. I checked and double checked my lay out setting and box layout settings + other admin settings. I ran a code checker over the php files that are involved and I just can't find it..

Now I'm not exactly what you would call a php-queen (and that is mildly expressed) so there's a huge chance I'm missing something. Other than that maybe there's something very obvious I'm missing that has nothing to do with php too...

Hhhm...now it get's really weird, I changed the value of Main Page - Opens with Category to 0 (just checking if it made a difference) and my sidebox and footer instantly returned to the main page.

So I still don't have a clue as to what's up...Turning on Main Page opens with Category displays no cats and eats my sidebox and footer. Turning it of displays sidebox and footer but (obviously) no cats.

Does anybody have any idea what I'm looking at here?

I really don't want to look unpolite by bumping this topic, but does anybody know any solutions to this? I've read all I could find but no luck so far.

I've found the solution but it was very very difficult to find. One of the pictures I transfered got damaged during the transfer... Weirdly enough replacing it solved this whole issue... I don't know how that was possible (to the best of my knowledge pics are not supossed to influence the working of the store) but it's solved so I'm all happy!
