I have been able to create the ez pages but can't get the links to show up in the header, footer or side boxes. all swithes are on in the ez pages set up & tools. and the code in is my customised tpl header file. I'm sure there's something basic I'm over looking

Did you give them a sort order when you created them? Sort order 0 = off.
