Gift Voucher - Incorrect Order Total

I have the latest Zen Cart version installed.
I have set up Gift Certificates which work as far as:
I can purchase them & release the amount.
I can purchase items less in value than the Gift Certificate.
I can purchase items the same value as the Gift Certificate.

However, when I try to use a Gift Certificate on a order total greater than the Gift Certificate value, the Payment Total is way off.
I.e.
1 x $10 Item 0% $10.00
1 x $150 Item 10% $150.00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

$160.00 Sub-Total:
$0.00 Store Pickup (Walk In):
$13.64 GST 10%:
-$10.00 Gift Certificates:
$286.36 Total

Total Should be $150.00

Any ideas on what the problem is??

I'd be interested if this is a bug or my configuration issue, however, the client has decided not to implement Online GV... I might have to revisit this for the next job.

I know this is an old post but I am just now experiencing the same problem.

The problem occurs when there are products in the cart which are taxable. Where all products in the cart are not taxable the Order Total is correct.

I have worked out how the wrong Order Total is calculated. It is two times the correct discounted total minus the tax!

Don't ask me why but you will see that this is the case in the example above and is also the case in my own testing.

In Admin>Modules>Order Total>Gift Certificates, setting 'Include Tax' to 'false' and 'Re-calculate Tax' to 'Standard' fixes this although I am getting an error of a few pence which could be rounding but I'm not convinced.

Setting 'Include Tax' to true really shouldn't give the above result should it? Is this a bug?

After some thought the correct settings should be:

'Include Tax' - 'True'
'Re-calculate Tax' - 'None'

A gift voucher is just another form of money so it can be used to pay the tax part of the order total as well as the product cost, shipping etc. It is NOT a discount and therefore has no effect on the tax due so tax should not be re-calculated.

Conclusion: This is definitely not working as it should.

Any help would be appreciated.
