Help! What have I done? (not actually expecting an answer to that one LOL)

I had this installed, worked perfect, beautifully in fact. I love everything about it. Then I had to uninstall another mod (FedEx) and this stops working. I have re-uploaded the files from version 2.03 -2.05 and restored the good backup copy of my database, ran the sql each time and the only thing i ever get is redirected to www.mysite.com/admin/index.php. No updates, no blank page, just kicks me back to start.

The one thing I didn't do was to delete this mod completely and then start over, but why should i? I did check that the files were overwriting. They are.
I have tried running the sql through phpMyadmin and the install sql patches area in the store admin. Nothing. I'm getting very frustrated. Hope someone can help me.
The only thing I can think of is maybe the "good" copy isn't so good? But why would it matter if the sql uninstalls itself before it installs again? Or does it?

I can see it all. I can play with it, pull down the boxes, write in the spaces, select the radio buttons, but when I click "Update", it doesn't.

Okay, I just found out that the copy feature does work. It will copy a product, but then you can't update it unless you go to the normal edit product page to do it.

I also found out there is a security vulnerability in the mod according to Web Developer Toolbar for FF.

I found the answer finally. I had to do with an incomplete security update. I had overwritten the html_output.php file with the non-security updated one, when un-installing one of the mods. I appreciate all the help and quick responses with my problem. Someone could have at least told me to look elsewhere if you didn't know the answer.

But no products show up
What am I doing wrong please

I'm really not trying to sound condescending, but are you certain that the category you are selecting is associated with products?
Are any of the products showing up if you don't select a category? They should be. All of the products should be showing if you are in the top category. If not then you are not getting communication with the db. Which means you probably haven't installed the sql file correctly.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge,

I would like to get the margin feature working on quick updates but I'm unsure what I need to do.

I found this in the install instructions but I don't understand what needs to be done..

To make the products_purchase_price and margin feature work "products_purchase_price" (i.e. DECIMAL 15,4) and "products_margin" (i.e. DECIMAL 15,2) need to be added to your products tabel

I would be greatful if someone could help me out a little.

I am using zencart v1.3.9c

I have just installed Google Chrome and now when I go to Quick Updates the 'Name' field for the product doesn't automatically extend when it is longer than the field like it did with Firefox.

Is there a way to make that field show more characters as default?

Help!

I had installed quickupdates in my test shop and loved it. I put it on my real shop and started doing stuff. It's acting weird; when I go to do random things (initially only when trying to do Quick Update stuff, but over the course of the day it happened again and again when, eg, inserting or updating products) ZC will "miss" and suddenly I am 403 forbidden and/or "easy" urls (like main category urls) are "not found"

If I a) clear the cache and only sometimes b) just navigate to another site and back (... nuking my session key?), I can go back and re-login to admin. BUT, I'm afraid my store is unstable and not usable for production. I haven't duplicated the effect using the store as an end user yet, but I'm hoping this is a known issue with a great workaround!

@amyleew: is the name field size issue on Chrome already solved? It should not be difficult to increase the size, but I don't know how to do it from the top of my head (problem is that I haven't seen/used the code of the current version for years as I am using, and still working on, my never finishing new beta...)

@fred_tededmondsson: never heard or seen issues like that before with quick updates. And sudden "403 forbidden" issues sound more like a hosting problem to me than something with quick updates or Zen Cart.

I didn't find this issue on the search so I'm going to ask (excuse me if someone mentioned before).

I have someone that needs URGENT to fix all his database (it's a real mess). Categories with products and product with subcategories all messed up and mixed. There are over 40k products in this database. So I thought "hmmm I will install quick updates and my life will be easier"....

I should mention that I tried doing it from phpAdmin and didn't work for me. No errors but when I go to admin the products still there.

The problem is that when I go to the list of products (specific category) and it says "Invalid Master Category ID" when I click to select the correct one, the list doesn't show up, it only gives me the category where it is right now.

Please I need this to work I will go insane doing one by one. Is there a query I can do directly on phpadmin? or is there a fix for this issue?
