Thanks for the suggestion, Angel. I just tried it (it was a good idea); no change in behavior, though.

Debugging this would be a lot easier if I understood how/when the watermark is supposed to be applied. I get the impression that it's applied dynamically, so I shouldn't be surprised that I don't see it in the image files in bmz_cache.

What do you mean when you say you "set the sizes different?"

PHP 5.3 would render IH2 fully inoperable.. The error messages would be VERY obvious..

Yeah, I don't seem to be getting any error messages whatsoever. IH2 is functioning; it's just not performing as desired, which makes me think it's some kind of cockpit error. The big mystery is how I lost the rollover zoom; is this a function of IH2, or is it core ZC functionality?

An update on my situation: by resetting the Configuration->Images fields essentially to the values listed in the IH2 readme, I somehow stumbled back into getting my rollover zoom. And, on the rollover, I get a watermark.

But, this is the ONLY time/place I get watermarks. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I really don't understand how IH2 works, I guess. I tried uninstalling and deleting the cache. I then re-installed, and attempted to add a picture from my uploads directory. I got an error message saying the file already exists. Of course it exists; how else would IH2 be able to process it?

So, I uploaded the pic from my local system. I've got the images back, but...no watermarks and no rollover.

yes it will say that...mine did too when i first put it in and then had to mess with uninstalling/reinstalling...what i had to do was go to the store/images and manually delete them from the server to reup them again.

I have several vendors so what I do is put the path to the images I upload as the page indicate when you first upload the image...then underneath that i write /promos/vendor name/

that way they get organized to a specific vendor for if I should ever need to get the images there for unforseen computer/server glitch...or removal of vendor.

just go to the server and the images folder and delete the images you are being told exist there, then upload the new ones again through ih2

So I tested this patch last night.. In addition to this patch not being PHP 5.3 compatible, the section which explains the change needed to get the zoom effect to work on medium images breaks my product detail pages.

In addition (as I have always maintained), there is specific code in this patch which appears to be in direct conflict with nearly all lightbox contributions..

With regards to zooming on medium images, IMO, it makes sense that perhaps this "non-working" feature should probably be "removed" in the next IH2 release.. This will eliminate ANY confusion on this matter for users of this mod. I am working on a PHP 5.3 compatible version of IH2 and if I am able to finish this release, I will be removing this setting from the IH2 admin.

Now if there is anyone who has WORKING PHP 5.3 compatible code which gets zoom to work on medium images AND does not interfere with lightbox contributions, hopefully they will be willing to share their code with the community.. I haven't found anything else that includes any specific code other than the patch post..

And I may take another look at this again.. It's been long established that the hover effect does not work on medium images, and it's MORE than clear that not everyone understands how to set image sizes correctly to get everything working in IH2.. I'll gladly admit that I have a spreadsheet and cheat notes to help me with setting up images, and even with that I didn't really KNOW why certain things worked.. I just knew they "did"..

So anyway back to this post, I think that MINUS this change:

many (perhaps not all) of capnhairdo's changes could be SAFELY incorporated into the IH2 code.. I will look at this with Beyond Compare tonight.. and if the spirit (and my time availability) moves me I'll try testing these changes on my test store..

The capnhairdo's changes to the main_product_image template however are in DIRECT conflict with lightbox and other similar mods, I would need to evaluate what other files in this "patch" might also be in conflict with a lightbox mod.. I may even give a shot to figuring out how to incorporate his main_product_image changes to work with Fual Slimbox (if I do this, I won't be tackling any other lightbox mods as I don't use them..)

can someone test this with PHP5.3? And let us know the outcome?

If its not PHP5.3 READY, i'd be willing to chip in some money with a group of people if someone wants to get this mod zc139 and PHP5.3 Ready, and working with Zen Lightbox.

Someone clever... like oh, I dunno... DrByte, kuroi or SWGUY... and many many more that i fail to mention!
