MultiSite Module Support Thread

In hidkits subcategories are working well,but in motorcycle subcategories are not showing up except few.but in back end there were details added to that.

Hi,
I installed Zen Cart 1.3.8a and the multisite module 0.4.1.
After installing site1.com, I try to configure site2.com and put this rule in the htaccess of site2.com
RewriteRule ^/shop/.* https://www.site1.com/shop/$1 [L,R]

The shop appears on site2.com but after several hours, I didn't find why the template still use the default one.

Have you got any idea of what I have to check ?
can I active some trace to find what is not working well ?

Go to your Admin->Tools->Multisite Tools and click "Display the relations Categories/Sites". Now you'll see all your cats and subcats in one place - see if they have the right site assigned to it. And check it for ALL subcats. Make sure you click the "save" button after making changes...

Why using rewrites? It's a very powerfull tool, I know, but you need some expert skills to gt it running.

In your case, you redirected your site2 to site1. And that's not what you want, you need site2 to have documentroot at site1. If you have cPanel, it's very easy to do it, I answered it just a few posts ago...

Site1 and site2 don't have the same content.
that's why I only redirect the shop folder.
My interface is not Cpanel.
with my panel I can redirect full site or a sub domaine. but not a folder.

But you don't need redirects! You need to change the document root, nothing else.

Let me guess, you have Plesk and a shared hosting account. Right? If you have access to the servers conf files, you might get it working, but my guess is you don't have it. I believe you can't solve this yourself and should contact your hosting company to do it for you. You'll probably have to explain in detail what you want - don't let them do a redirect. Tell them that you want your site2.com/shop "pull data" from site1.com/shop while keeping the site2.com url... If they do it for you, you're with a good hosting company.

I'm not 100% sure, but i believe you could get it running if you switch from folders to subdomains. I know there are some disadvantages with subdomains, but there are also some advantages and this could work...

But the thing is

In 'Display the relations Categories/Sites'

i cant able to find categories and subcategories..........

i can able 2 find only 'Add This site to all Categories'

pls help me out..........
