The new version of Zen Cart has not been the cause of the delay at all..
Goodness gracious.. **SMH**
Let me say this.. Again.. there isn't anything more causing the delay than what I have relayed here already.. when you have different people across the world in different timezones, who have families, work, and side projects it just takes time to get a VOLUNTEER project done.. Seriously.. there's nothing more going on here than busy VOLUNTEERS who only have so much time in a day to do this and manage our work and familial obligations..
Honestly when there is something significant to report or real issues, we will report it here.. Please be patient..

No we are not going to attempt to add the ability to zoom on medium images.. We won't be doing it for probably the same reasons the original author never got an opportunity to tackle this.. In order to add this feature we will have to make sure that it does not interfere with the compatibility with IH2 and most lightbox contribs, and that is going to require a LOT more time and effort than we all have right now.. (MAYBE we'll address it in a future release.. and I do have to stress MAYBE so everyone doesn't keep asking us about this..)
IH2 Rev 8 is simply an update to add PHP 5.3 (and backwards) compatibility along with compatibility with the current version of Zen Cart..

Might be something to add to the readme or perhaps add an faq file to the package, not trying to step on peoples feet, you guys are doing a good job, but there are 5200 or so posts in this thread a high portion of which are people asking the same questions and not everyone is going to read all of them
I realise there is a small troubleshooting section on the readme file, perhaps a menu with page link anchors at the top of the readme to link to the various sections, troubleshooting, lightboxes, acknowledgements etc may help, I know you can't protect people from themselves, but putting the links at the top of the page may help make it easier for some
For instance this would probably be good to add again by DivaVocals
This app really doesn't do anything more except manage your images. It will create all the proper image dimension sizes based on the settings you provide. It will do some VERY simple image effects (currently only applies to small product images displayed in sideboxes and on the product listing pages -- zooming on medium images is not supported/working) It will do some image compression to improve image loading performance, and lastly it manages the file naming convention required by Zen Cart to link additional product images to the correct product.
IH2 is a very straightforward install and usually when it stops/doesn't work there are one of a few reasons why:
Changes to the template files which remove core Zen Cart code IH2 needs to work properly
Javascripts either from other mods or java slideshows and such which conflict with the IH2 javascript
IH2 files are not copied to the correct location
Mixed file formats for main product and additional images (For example: main product image is a JPG and additional images a PNGs
Case mix-ups between the main product image and the additional images (For example: the main product image file name is all upper case and the additional images file names are all lowercase)
IH2 doesn't affect the style or layout of images on the product details or product listing pages. (You didn't ask this, but I certainly have seen some recent questions on this count) It only affect the behavior of the image on these pages.

Beta testers needed.
If you want to help with the next release, here are the guidelines for beta testing:
1) You need to have the ability to test on a clean 1.3.9c, no mods installed. It does not matter if the server is local or online, PHP 5.3.x preferred.
2) This version has no readme, instructions, changelog, etc. yet. You have to know what you are doing. THIS IS NOT FOR PRODUCTION. NO warranties whatsoever if you mess up your store, you have been warned.
3) Once you are satisfied that it is working, you are encouraged to install on top of it the latest versions of Zen Lightbox, Fual, or other similar mods like the one available at rubikintegration (I think). Backup your previous working installation of IH2 before installing anything else.
4) If you find errors or bugs, please use the enable_error_logging.php utility, now included in core at Store_Root -> includes -> extra_configures.php and report to me.
PM me and I will send you the zip.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Great mod.. working 99% - this is why I like Zen Cart so much... dedicated experts that help because they WANT to not because theyhave to! Thanks Chaps! Keep it up...
But now for my little problem:-
Can anyone tell me why I may be having some images load fine and others gives the "image not found" symbol. For example, some product images are not showing until they are clicked (and then they appear fine in the lightbox) Secondly some of the category images have also dissapeared. If I look at the image info it is looking for some in the BMZ_Cache folder and others in the root/images folder and it only seems to be the ones in the BMZ folder not showing. I have checkled permissions all seem fine too!
I have not cleared the image cache because I am scared of breaking it totally or am I on the right track?
I am using ZC 1.3.9a and IH2 (release 7)
Many thanks for you help in advance!
Phill

A link to the effected site would help, as image handler tends to either work or not.
having some images linking to the bmz_cache and others linking to the images file tends to mean something has been done incorrectly, or a file has been overwritten by another mod.
When you say lightbox do you mean you have the zen_lightbox mod installed as well?
Hi
Thanks for the help.. yes, I'm using Zen_lightbox.
Should they all be located in the BMZ folder?
I installed IH2 after the site had been built. Does this make a difference?
The site is www.trentvalleysports.co.uk
Many Thanks
Phill
