Hi Rod - thanks for your comments. Actually, Zencart will install without CURL, no hoops or sidesteps. I've done it many times.

As have I in the past... but not with the latest 1.3.9 releases.

I do appreciate your comments in a later post suggesting a work around to solve the install issue.

I also appreciate the report, because it has highlighted yet another thing that can go wrong (and a scenario I hadn't tried/considered) that can easily be avoided in future updates.

I don't think Frank was really having a dig at you .... We've been having a bit of a 'laugh' at the goings on in another thread recently, and his comment was more of an 'in' joke.

If you actually read the text in the popup, it advised that some payment & shipping modules require CURL to talk to to there respective servers to get real-time quotes and payment authorizations - there is no mention of installation issues,

Until now there probably haven't been any installation issues as a result of this, and I wouldn't be expecting the zencart team to update this text on the basis of one 3rd party module. It really is for me to handle the problem in a much more userfreindly manner.

and as I haven't had any installations issues with earlier versions of the ozpost module, I personally had no issue asking for advise in this instance.

As always, I'm happy to answer any question, no matter what skill level or experience a user has. The code has gone through many changes over the years new things have been added, others have been dropped and others have simply changed the way it 'works'.

It is always good when people are able to solve problems out for themselves, but it is even better if I'm made aware of such problems so I can take steps to avoid or mitigate them for the benefit of others. This being one such example.

Where can 2.0.6 be downloaded from? the download version on the ZC addons site is stil 2.0.5

I fear I may need to roll back the server code, even though the DIFF's haven't provided any solid clues either.

I'm in the process of upgrading to 2.0.6 and all seems to be working ok.

Can I put a feature request in for future versions? A simple option to NOT display the delivery time estimate during checkout would be really helpful. I have been manually changing the module code to remove time estimate, but if it was built into the admin that would be even better.

You can do that via the admin console under the shipping module itself..

Your wish is my command - Go to the config page, and see where it says Postage Delay (days) ?

Enter a negative value (such as -1). Voila, time estimates are gone.
(The code has had this functionality since early V1).

Yes, I know this isn't an 'obvious' setting or place to set such a thing, but if you think about it, no one is ever going to need to enter a postage delay AND hide the display at the same time, so it does actually make sense.

These are both from up to the minute log files. Neither appears to have all data intact. (The first missing ozpost version number, the second missing the zencart identifier).

I think these are both symptoms of a problem rather than the problem itself though.
