It sounds to me like the culprit is most likely to be this Tabbed Products Pro, it could possibly be building the paths in a function which is unaware of the need to use absolute rather than relative paths, or it may be using its own template files for the product info page which again are not building absolute paths but relative ones.

Conor I used Tabbed Products Pro with your module and have not had any issues.. That said if Mike is using any version other than v 1.05, then TPP could be an issue as the versions after released 1.05 included other software bundled in which in the past has caused issues for uses of TPP.. My suggestion on the small possibility that TPP is the culprit is for Mike to roll back to v 1.05 of TPP..

I wonder though if Mike isn't using a Template Monster (or affiliate) template. These templates are known to be problematic..

i need some advice...

at the moment my store is running 139c and URI 3.4.3.

i was just going to upgrade to your latest version then 139d arrived.

The plan is to upgrade to 139d by just adding the 139d modified files then wait for your updated URI mod for 139d. Is this ok or will it feck up my site... (URI mods turned off btw until the joy of updating is done)

im in no hurry, i just thought id ask and plan ahead.

another weekend.. hope it's a sunny one for us!

I have TPP 1.06 installed, I have no problems rolling it back to 1.05 if indeed that may be the problem.. I'm willing to try anything.

And in regards to using Template Monster.. noooooo waaaayyyy..

Its a clean template (Blue version of Lite Red, by 12leaves.com) offered up in the Downloads Section.. )

No, I understand perfectly.. it's still the same problem and the solution is still the same.



The problem is nothing to do with the module, it is that your site isn't yet fully capable of using static URIs as your site is not using full, absolute URIs for all of its images etc.

Sorry if you miss-interpreted my comments, I was not for one minute suggesting the Module was at fault. In fact I'm very anxious to get it working, as I think it's a great mod..

Then, quite simply, something being used to generate the output on the product page is not using absolute URIs. You should check all the template code being used to build that page.

I will go back and troll over and have another look...

Again the image paths are irrelevant.. when you are attempting to fix problems on computers you should always ignore extraneous data and concentrate on the core facts..

The core fact in your case is that the paths to the images - no matter what these paths are, whether they are medium, large or whatever - need to be absolute.

This, as you rightly suggest is most likely the issue, it's just I can't locate the image paths themselves... I need a bigger spade so I can dig deeper..!

You've just made a mistake then and missed out on some files - they may not be calling for the images directly themselves.

You should check each and every file that is used to build the HTML output for the product info page. You will find at least one which is building the paths incorrectly.

Looks like you were on the ball Diva... I removed TPP completely and voila..... The URI mapping works perfectly..

If you have an existing store, you will have to generate the URLs for each product when you first implement Ceon URI.. That's the bad news.. BUT if you are comfortable working directly in your database, you can upload all of your initial product URIs directly into the database.. (This is what I have done for two existing sites with large numbers of products) AND you can upload the URLS your product are currently using/generating using SSU so that you don't lose any SEO momentum.. After the initial URI population, if you have the settings configured to use the auto-generation of Ceon URI, then your URIs will be generated as you crate new products/categories...

I don't want to hi-jack Conor's support thread with this so I'll try to keep it very brief..

Basically I created an Excel spreadsheet and populated it with the URI data.. To create the URIs in my spreadsheet I used the concatenate function in Excel. With it, and the appropriate category columns in my spreadsheet, I was able to create a formula to calculate the URI's based on the auto-generate settings I was going to be using in the Ceon URI module.. Then it was a matter of using the copy down feature to copy the formula. and uploaded it to the database.

You could do the same thing to recreate the URLs that SSU generates for you currently, and upload those URIs to the database. This way you would be able to keep the URLs you currently have been using..
