    Hi Rod,

Didn't really want to throw more spanners in the works, but I feel I am about too

I just switched the php version on my test site (which is ZC 1.3.9c and ozpost 2.05) from PHP 5.3 back to PHP 5.2.11 to test an unrelated issue, and the shipping estimator broke eg, it disappears..
I did change the store name back to a single entity, to see if it had the same pattern as ozpost 1.X on my live site, but it made no difference..
Is this all related, or have I uncovered something you'd rather I hadn't ?

We came across this problem Friday night when a customer contacted us saying she couldn't buy anything....there were no post options.

We are running Zen Cart 1.3.8a were using Version 1.02 of ozpost I believe.

We upgraded to V2.05 as that was what was being advised at the time. It seemed to fix the problem, at least immediately.

Unfortunately we seem to be having intermittent problems. It works sometimes, and others it doesn't. With the estimator, repressing the done button will give the rates, but not always.

We haven't upgraded to the V2.06 yet as it seemed corrected....will V2.06 clear this issue up at all?

Do you have a URL where I can test/check this for myself? I'm not doubting that there is a problem, but I need to look for any kind of pattern so that I can replicate (and hopefully fix) the problem.

Probably not. The changes between V2.0.5 and V2.0.6 were quite minimal and mainly of a cosmetic nature.

Ok, so I upgraded from v1.x.x to v2.0.6 ozpost on Friday evening and everything appeared to be working ok.

However, it appears that the estimated rates are a tad off. I'm reasonably certain that the setup has been done correctly as I've copied all the old setting into the new one. But certain postcodes are coming back with values a little bit off (<$1) away from their real values. Have the postal rates changed? It was fine before I upgraded...

Also, 3kg express satchel is not showing up, but 3kg satchel is coming up fine. Both have been enabled. That's really strange since they'd use the same parcel weight and dimensions...

    Please provide an example.

Generally speaking the rates provided will be accurate or not provided at all. Where there is a discrepancy between what the user expects and what the module provides it is the user that has it wrong.

Not an easy task considering V2 has a lot more settings than V1 :-)

Also, take careful note of the way the handling charges are defined, as some of them are applied differently between the versions.

    Again, I need specific examples.

Yes, they have changed since V1.x..x but it shouldn't make any difference in regards to accuracy because the quotes are obtained in real time so you should always get the most up to date rates.

That's what they all say. Seriously, I've now lost count of the number of people that are still using the obsolete 'AustPost' module that hasn't been able to produce a valid quote for well over a year now, that have pretty much insisted it was fine until recently.

    Hi Rod,
I'll send you my site and login details in a PM.

Currently suburban VIC shipments are charged at $7.45 + $1 handling = $8.45 total which is correct, however country VIC is charged at $16.25 + $1 = $17.25, where previously was $16.15 total. I've used the same handling fee config. I'll keep playing around with the handling fees and see if it's different, but currently it looks like the fees are at least applied differently.

With regards to the satchels, your test was for aussiemaille's site, not mine. I'll PM you my site. It's strange because i've enabled auspost satchels and auspost express satchels but only auspost satchels come up.

Also, trying to get TNT up which is a great feature. Unfortunately it's also not showing up. I'm not exactly sure which of my logins to use, though. TNT website has a few. I've used my username and password and it doesn't show up. I've also used my email and password. My account number should be OK.

Anyway, if you could give me some clues it would be much appreciated.

Please, everyone. DON'T do this unless I specifically ask. Generally speaking, if I need login details then whatever it is you want/expect from me is going to be a chargeable job.

When I said I needed 'specific examples', I meant to imply that they need to be something that I can verify for myself.
I acknowledge that there are probably products in your store that will provide these shipping quotes, but I'm not going to spend the time adding random quantities of random products to a shopping cart and picking destination postcodes semi-randomly *just* to replicate the figures you have provided.

Previous to what? The Ice Age? The last price increase? The last incorrect quote provided to you by the obsolete AustPost module?

I will repeat... The same as what? ozpost V1? That'll cause you a problem straight up.. As per previous reply "Not an easy task considering V2 has a lot more settings than V1 :-) "

This comment worries me for two reasons.
    1. It tells me that in spite of handling fees being shown, you haven't yet managed to decide whether it is the shipping quotes that are incorrect/different or whether it is the handling fees.

    2. You should not need to "play" with the handling fees to see what they do. I believe they are all clearly marked, labeled, and otherwise pretty obvious what each of them do. I acknowledge that as clear as I attempt to make it, someone, somewhere, is going to be confused about one, perhaps two of the settings, in which case a little bit of experimenting soon resolves any confusion. What I'm getting from you as that that you are confused about ALL of them, therefore you feel a need to 'play'.

Playtime is over, and I'm not going to do your work for you.

Wow, what an amazing bit of insight... not only did I tell you that already, you also re quoted it back to me before presenting it as your own conclusion.

"Also, take careful note of the way the handling charges are defined, as some of them are applied differently between the versions."

Would/Should that make a difference? Same apparent problem (I guess/think), so I would assume the same conclusions (if any) could/should be applied. I shouldn't need to give every site/user personal attention.

That was aussiemaille 's complaint too. Have you tried the same fix that worked for there?

Temporarily enable DEBUG mode to capture the error message provided by TNT (if any). Then Contact TNT for further help.

    Hi Rod,

Will you be adding Hunter Express to the list?

We have an account, but you don't require an account to use the frieght calculator. Pretty much charging on weight basis, which ever is larger. Actual or Cubic.

It isn't one that I've considered, mainly due to the fact that I've never heard of them before.

I won't say that I won't or can't add it, but I will say "don't hold your breath waiting".

I've identified your store based on your forum username, and have spent the last few minutes adding items to the cart, refreshing the shipping estimator, etc, and so far not a single failure.

Exactly how intermittent is this problem? Is there anything that you (or I) can do to invoke it?

The people that that reported problems, do you know if they were logged in at the time?

Is the problem related to any particular product or products?

    Any clues will be helpful.

Meanwhile, I would like to inform you that there is something amiss with your installation.. Nothing that would cause this problem, but it does affect how your quote screen appears.

There is a file in the ozpost release package called "tpl_modules_shipping_estimator.php" This needs to be copied into your /custom/ folder (whatever that may be with your setup).

It also appears that the ozpost languages file may also be incorreclty positioned because the logs indicate not all of your 'defines' are being set.

    Cheers
    Rod
